I had an extremely disappointing experience at Royal Palace Chinese Restaurant in Sioux Falls. The food was honestly some of the worst I’ve had in a long time. The flavors were completely off, everything tasted bland or strange, and nothing felt fresh. It was very unappetizing and hard to finish.
The quality was so poor that it honestly feels like they need to completely rethink their recipes and start over from scratch. The dishes lacked authenticity, balance, and care. It seemed rushed and poorly prepared.
I really hope management takes a serious look at their kitchen standards, ingredients, and overall food quality because this experience was unacceptable. I would not recommend it based on my visit.

We came in not fully knowing what to expect as the outside seems a little sketchy but our hesitation was quickly removed as we were greeted by very friendly staff. They interior had great decorations which I loved, however there was virtually no sound so it was really quiet and made me feel like I needed to whisper the whole time. Other than recommending a little music, I really liked the place and the sparkling tables. Also heads up, they serve the drinks in cups that day Pepsi but they serve Coke so if you have an issue with that, now you know lol.
We ordered off the chef suggestion portion of the menu and got the Happy Family and the Chicken in a nest, which comes in an edible taco salad style bowl. When the Happy Family meal was served, it was poured onto a hot place and served to our table which was a bit showy and fun. I enjoyed it.
When we were all finished, we asked for to go boxes and our waitress brought us an extra box of rice! She said you need more rice with leftovers and I agree and she is the best for that!

I ordered takeout. My order was missing an item and the pork fried rice that I paid for was just rice with 2 peas in it. No pork. I tried calling and the call would not go through. This was my first and last time ordering from this place.

Got some food and it was 90 DOLLARS! So I expected it to be good! The crab rangoons weren’t even cooked all the way and the folds were really chewy and not crunchy at all. Then we got sesame chicken and it was horrible! The chicken had these piece that were just super chewy and stringy and we had to spit it out. Then we got the chicken chow mein and the chicken fried rice and I’ve never seen chicken look like the pieces in these dishes, overall I’m never coming back and I should request a refund for over half of the items.

When I travel to Sioux falls, I like to come here. The food is pretty good, it’s not gourmet but I keep coming back. It’s never busy for dine in, but there seems to be a ton of door dash and pickup orders. Price is on line with other quick dine in. Google has the wrong hours listed. They are closed on Wednesday per the note on the door, which has caught me a couple of times because I couldn’t remember the particular day between visits.

I’m beyond disappointed but I shouldn’t be surprised. I didn’t do my research completely on this establishment before choosing to do a take out order with them. But I’m still just so amazed this place is even open with all of its reviews on how bad the food is, and I agree. I got the chicken lo mein and it had a hair in it and undercooked vegetables, sesame chicken that was swimming in a sugar water mixture that coated every container in the bag, crab rangoons that had the smallest amount of crab and curdled cream cheese in it, and fried dumplings that were frozen in the middle and burnt on the bottoms. Sad to say I was hoping this place would be good. 0/10.

It’s a luck if a draw at this place. Our first time the food was decent, the second time we had hair in our shrimp fried rice but luckily they remade it and it was really good. This however will be the last time I’ll ever eat here. Ordered General Tso like I normally do and I have no idea what I got but it’s not chicken. Tofu maybe idk but even they couldn’t tell me what I got which is more alarming. Just go to Golden Harvest I know I will.

I ordered from this place for the 1st time and nevet again! Awful food! Over price! Terrible customer service. Long story short the so called cook should be fired. He thinks he is the manager and owner and cook. He said it was my fault the food was wrong and my fault it wasn’t full. I will never support this place. He disrespected me. I asked for the owner and he told me they are in China. If you are reading this and you are the owner, I advise you to fire him. I’ll never let my friends and family order from here.
