This was my first time dining in at Royal of India, and it was overall a very wonderful experience! My boyfriend and I went for dinner and the atmosphere was very beautiful, they have a wonderful dining area and it’s obvious they put lots of time into making sure the tables were set. We were greeted immediately by a very kind gentleman who also served our meals and we waited no time to be sat. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and my boyfriend ordered lamb biryani as our main courses and the fish pakora, paneer pakora, and vegetable samosas as appetizers. The food was beyond delicious and came out in a very timely manner! I would also like to add that the gentleman who served us did a wonderful job at checking on us and making sure our drinks were filled. We were so pleased we made plans to come back and try out their buffet! Definitely a nice dining experience!

Second time ordering from here. It was truly inedible we suspect the chicken was super old. It’s a shame because the sauce and naan are great but they shouldn’t send out chicken like this.

The food was just decent. Ordered lamb kebabs which were very dry and also didn’t come with any sauce. The quantity of curry and rice dishes was good but quality was just meh. Also, naan was kind of dry too. This place has indoor and outdoor seating, however indoor seating lights were dim. The service was good as they didn’t charge gratuity beforehand.

The food is hot and excellent The chi tasted good, but my stomach did not like it. I would give it a 5. I did not enjoy my ice cream when we noticed a little kid grabbed a spoon off his table that has been eating with and scoped some ice cream. They should put a sign in there that parents requires to scope ice cream by a certain age.

Where have you been all my life? Tried the Wednesday night buffet last night and I am now ruined from going to any other Indian buffets in Rochester. BEST BUFFET in the area, hands down!
First we were blown away by the quality of the food…clearly homemade, well prepared, and a bit of a different variety of options than I’ve had elsewhere. The roasted veggies had the most amazing marinade and were carmelized to perfection. Everything on the buffet was fresh tasting…not rubbery or dried out as if it had been sitting under heat lamps for hours.
The atmosphere is so peaceful and tranquil…very nice murals on the wall that really transport you! Even the desserts were amazing…the rice pudding had the best flavors, and the ice creams were traditional chocoloate, vanilla, mint chocolate chip and cookie dough, which I prefer over the flavors typically found at Indian buffets.
When we went to pay, we figured the price would be more than what we paid elsewhere based on the location and quality. We shocked when we learned it was $17.99 per person. I almost didn’t want to write this review so as to keep this a best kept secret, but I’m sure when college is in session, this buffet is buzzing!

I went to this restaurant for a weekday lunch buffet. It was not crowded, and the food was okay. There was only one server/ receptionist, who was friendly but didn’t ask of we wanted anything to drink or if we needed more naan, which they bring to the table. The buffet was fine but not exceptional. For dessert, they offered ice cream and rice pudding. The atmosphere was nice overall. It was an okay experience.

I had an excellent dining experience at Royal of India in Rochester! The authentic Indian cuisine was flavorful and fresh, and they offer a great variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, including a delicious lunch buffet that’s perfect for trying multiple dishes. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall service made me feel welcomed and well-taken-care-of. I’d highly recommend Royal of India for anyone looking for high-quality Indian food and a memorable meal in the area!

Helpful and friendly wait staff and one of the few Indian buffets open on a Sunday. That said, if bland, hospitable style food is your thing, this is your place, most likely trying to accommodate the American taste buds. Not likely to return.

If you get very hungry and wanna eat lots of varieties of indian food, this might be one of the places. We took a buffet for lunch, and it was worth 16$. There were lots of varieties for both veg and non veg.
Especially I liked cute samosas, chutney for them were also well balanced and tasty, bread pakora and mango juice was yum too!
Of course, you can’t expect authentic Indian spicy levels here, but it was not so blonde as well. It was tasty food overall for a nice lunch.

Food was amazing. The vegetable jeffrezi was perfect as was the veggie app plate. Highly recommend. Looks like they have a lunch buffet everyday and a dinner buffet on Wednesdays.
