Definitely a hidden gem inside a gas station. They make food to order, and nothing beats fresh nan. You can walk from API, which is awesome. Best unique option in the area, different from the gazillion chains within a two mile radius.

It is in a gas station. And if this became the standard I would be soooooo happy! I drive many many miles and have stopped at gas stations and rest areas so many times. The food options are always fast foods and occasionally maybe even a food truck. Then there is this location. A gas station with Royal Kabab inside it.
The gas station is nearly exactly opposite Athletic Performance Inc (API). There are many many options for food close to this location – nearly every fast food place can be found on this road within 2 miles – even the uncommon ones like Slim Chicken and Raising Canes. 2 Chick-fil-A even!
But people please – why would anyone go anywhere for food but to this place? Fresh hot healthy food and I don’t think there is a single item that’s above $15 on their menu. A variety of kabobs and curries served hot and fresh with salad, hot rice and made when you order hot naans. I tried their lamb curry and it was delicious! The quantity was easily good enough for 2 to share. I told them to hold the rice in my order and they gave me 2 naans instead of just one. I ended up eating both and finishing the lamb curry. It was soo good!
Service is very simple. You order and they bring the food out to the counter. You take your order and eat at the tables and chairs. Ring the bell by the register if no one is there. I went there some months ago and didn’t see anyone behind the counter, the restaurant was empty, and I assumed that the restaurant was closed. I did not see the bell …… and missed out on some delicious food. From now on they will be pretty much exclusively getting my business when I go to API.
They are open till 10pm.
Pro tip: The restroom is the gas station RR and it sucks! Thankfully there is a good separation between the RR section and the restaurant. So if you are coming from API use the restroom there first.

My mom saw this place on a local food reviewer’s TikTok. She doesn’t eat Indian food, but I do and she shared the video with me. Based on everything I saw in the video, I had to try it. I had the lamb rogan josh initially and while it was good, it felt like it was missing something. Then again, I did place the order through DoorDash and you can’t always customize the orders. Overall, the dish was delicious.
The mango lassi was A+. They had to substitute the ras malai (they were out, no problem) I wanted with kheer (the rice pudding). The kheer was so creamy, delicious, light and wasn’t overly heavy.
I ordered again, this time with the recommendation from the video; the curried goat. It was awesome. I’ve definitely found my go-to Indian spot now when I’m in the Gambrills area. I’m hoping they’ll have ras malai back soon so I can give it a try. Highly recommend, 10/10

This was our first time eating here, and we had difficulty finding the entrance. We eventually realized it was inside the gas station’s mini snack shop, which also houses a Subway counter. The place was quiet when we arrived for lunch. The lady gave us a paper menu with prices, and we ordered based on that. However, she later informed us that the menu was outdated, so we ended up paying more than expected when we received the bill. I wish they would update or remove the old menu if they’re not going to honor the prices listed. The food was served in plastic to-go boxes, and there was more sauce than meat. I’ve had tikka masala at several restaurants, but unfortunately, this one didn’t meet my expectations. It didn’t taste as good as the other restaurants I’ve tried. The tandoori chicken was also bony and has little amount of meat. I do like the naan bread they included in the meal. I don’t think we’ll be returning anytime soon.

The first thing that many people work at the hotel here is that there is absolutely no respect. The second thing is that when you eat, they give you a plastic plate to eat on, and the food is not even good.

We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Shish Kabab. They were large portion served by the owner, Zohaib, who was an excellent host. My wife loved the naan and the Tikka Masala that she ordered a second box to go. We dined in and the owner brought our food to our table. He was very pleasant to deal with. We will be back again when we crave Indian food.

I’ll update post with rest of photos. Customer service and portions are top notch. For $35 we recieved vindalooo chicken, sides, Naan, mango lassi, Tandori chicken, more sides and extra chutney cilantro per request without up charge. Owners or staff are friendly, helpful and proud of their food.
We are here visiting API volleyball tournament across the street and live an hour 45 minutes away, so unfortunately won’t be back unless there’s another vball tourney.

Absolutely delicious! Some of the best food I’ve ever had. We ordered the Royal Kabob Combo and Tandori Mix Grill and both were hot and freshly cooked. Everything was delicious, but the lamb really stood out to me and was my favorite. It was so tender and flavorful, and normally I don’t eat lamb. We will 100% return and recommend to everyone to try!
