I recently visited Royal Guard Fish & Chips and was impressed by the excellent customer service. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the experience enjoyable. The food was a bit greasier than I prefer, but it wasn’t bad just heavier than expected. The portions were generous, and the flavors were there, but a little less oil would have made it even better. Overall, it’s a decent spot with great service, and I’d consider giving it another try!

There are a usually a few people working so service here is usually quick, even when they deliver.
The portion sizes are large, you can have definitely have food for 2 days. (Pro tip: if you have an air fryer you can reheat and it will taste fine)
Prices are reasonable here for the amount of food you get.
I ordered chicken and chips, tenders and fries and 2 orders of fish and chips for a small family birthday party. The fish I was told was fine, but everyone said the fries were very old and over cooked on all meals.
I had the chicken and it was dry, oily and overly breaded, which unfortunately happens too often here. I was told the chicken tenders tasted old and dry as well.
I’m not sure I will continue to order food here for myself, since for me I don’t eat a lot of fish and the food hasn’t really been good for me.The last 3 times, the fries have been different than they use to be and they taste very old, dry and they are inedible.

Stamford’s version of traditional English fish & chips shop. Not bad, but everything is in fact, deep fried. The guys there are super nice. There seems to always be locals eating there so that is a pretty good endorsement that people love it.

Very nice meal. They recommended Haddock and Chips over the Traditional English F&C. Same price, so they weren’t gouging me. I recommend dining in (sparse but clean dining area), because F&C can lose their crispiness on the drive home. Also, my two-piece meal included three pieces of fish – I’m getting two meals out it. Can’t complain.
