Royal Dragon Restaurant and Buffet – A Must-Visit for Chinese Food in Grass Valley, CA

If you’re in Grass Valley, CA, and craving authentic, delicious Chinese food, look no further than the Royal Dragon Restaurant and Buffet. This is by far our favorite spot for Chinese cuisine, and we always make it a point to visit with my Mom. The all-you-can-eat buffet is unbeatable, offering a fantastic selection of hot, fresh, and tasty dishes that will satisfy anyone’s cravings.

The food is always hot and cooked to perfection, with a wide range of flavorful options that are sure to please even the pickiest eaters. The salad bar is a great touch, offering a nice variety of fresh, crisp options. And don’t forget the dessert bar, complete with creamy ice cream in two different flavors and decadent hot fudge to top it off!

The staff at the Royal Dragon is always friendly, welcoming, and ready to help, making every visit enjoyable. The restaurant is also exceptionally clean, which is always a plus. And best of all, the pricing is very reasonable—you won’t find a better deal for the quality of food and service.

If you’re looking for fantastic Chinese food in Grass Valley, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend!

Great buffet for the price! See new menu prices. Went with my friend today ..feb 3rd for lunch. See receipt. Best was the shrimp and the pepper chicken. Love that you can try just alittle bit of everything! 4 soups to choose from. Enjoyed the suishi as well. They also have senior discounts for the buffet. Very clean and well stocked. COME WITH AN APPETITE! Phillip was very friendly and accommodating. Definitely will be back!

I don’t know why it took us 11 years to eat here! So good!! I can’t eat enough to justify an “all you can eat” buffet – but I do like to eat “a little of this and a little of that,” so still happy to pay the buffet price. And, btw, the prices are not bad! $18/person and there’s SO much to choose from!! We decided that we need to be more strategic next time – less rice, and more tastes of more things!

It’s okay, not many selections at least during lunch time for an all you eat buffet, and a bit slow at getting fresh items out, some of the food is good and some was mediocre $68 and some change for a family of 4 plus they charge a 3.5% fee for using debit/credit cards

I recently moved to GV from BA and have ordering a few dinners from this restaurant. so far I’ve only found that the chow main and wonton soup are decent. I have ordered different things hoping it was just that particular item but no. The only item I have enjoyed was the Chowmain. Today I ordered the orange chicken, potstickers and orange chicken $48. Chowmain was the only tasty item I liked. the orange chicken was awful dry overcooked no extra orange sauce I didn’t even taste like orange. Pot sticklers were really dry and tasteless and only tasted the used oil from previous batches. Thankfully, I had the soy sauce. This is the last time I’ll ever order from them. I guess nothing really stands up to Bay Area food. Bad ingredients, old ingredients, subpar food, very disappointed in grass valley restaurants in general

This place used to great. Sadly now it is one of the worse places to eat. The buffet is almost $18 a person and it sucks! A lot of stuff either out or rubbery and horrible tasting. I’ll never return again.

I’ve been coming to this buffet since I was a kid the 90s! Just went last week & it’s as good as I remember. You know when you’re a kid & food is yummy but as an adult it’s trash? Well this was not like that at all! It was just as good still! Thank you for staying true to yourself Royal Dragon! I’ll forever be a fan & customer!

Extremely Disappointing Experience
The food at this Chinese buffet in Grass Valley was far below acceptable standards. Most dishes were cold, overcooked, and had clearly been sitting out for hours. The warming trays appeared off, and the buffet area itself looked poorly maintained and unsanitary. When we voiced our concerns, staff showed interest in resolving the issue with a blank look and a full bill. My mother and I literally took maybe five bites before we walked out in disgust, and were still charged $45. Poor food quality, questionable cleanliness, and indifferent service — I strongly recommend avoiding this place until serious improvements are made. No wonder there was no cars in the parking lot.

I hadn’t been here in a while and boy oh boy will I never go back! While they offer a full buffet, the items are standard issue buffet food. All the hot Chinese foods were heavily over salted. The meat in the sweet and sour pork was unchewable…in fact I spit it out. The meat in the orange chicken and generals chicken was dried out and chewy. The honey shrimp was okay as was the almond chicken but again very very salty. Also, I was slightly offended that they expected a tip when all he did was bring me a single glass of water and believe me I wanted another glass of water with all the salt in the food. Was it worth the $20.63 I paid….absolutely not. Will not go back again….ever.
