I’m always looking for a local place to get some good Indian food. The atmosphere is very modern and casual with several booths lining the walls and a few tables and chairs in the center. The current ordering process is a little different. A waitstaff will come to the table and take your order on a digital pad. From what I experienced, they want you to be ready to order everything you want at once. They don’t want to take your drink/appetizers order and come back for your main meal. The food is very good. They have a good variety of dishes but I feel like the prices are a little on the expensive side. $15 per dish is a bit steep for me. We ordered two goat dishes and asked for “hot”, I found the spice level was perfect. The only problem I had was that the bones were left in the meat. I felt like the majority of my dish was bones. There were perhaps 3 cubes of meat without bones, and the rest were slivers of meat on mostly bone. This directly impacts the portions of food that you get and feels like it was a waste to order this dish. Otherwise, I really liked the food. The staff are very friendly. I think, if you want Indian food in Lafayette and don’t want to pay as much as you would at Masalas, it’s a good place to try.

Our first experience here. The food was divine. We got a new to us appetizer- Papdi Chaat- the variety of spice and flavors was a delicious change from the ordinary. Thank you for a great meal.

Glad to see an Indian buffet option in Lafayette. All the food on the buffet was fresh and flavorful. Butter chicken is one of my favorite dishes so was glad to see that on the buffet. Staff was nice, friendly and welcoming. Will be returning.

I finally tried Indian food for the first time. What a surprise! The Ghee Chicken Roast was pack full of flavor! Definitely my favorite thing. I also enjoyed the Lamb Rogan Josh, I really enjoyed it. Tender lamb in a rich and spicy sauce served with fragrant rice. I asked for medium on the heat and it was definitely up there in the hot level but thankfully it wasn’t to much for me. Very tasty but I don’t know if I would advise extra spicy. That has to have some serious Scoville’s lol I also really enjoyed the garlic naan bread. It’s a very nice place with good service and super tasty food. I would go back to try more. Wish I had tried it sooner.

I came in today 5 minutes before close completely unintentional. I had never been and so I didn’t even know they were about to close. I was just passing by and thought Hmm that looks good. Im glad I did. Once I realized they were about to close, I apologized and offered to get my food to go but they insisted I stay and eat. They were so kind and promptly refilled my drink when needed. I didn’t need to ask for anything. I had the royal fish curry and it was divine. They also didn’t have the desert I asked for so he brought me a different kind, and didn’t charge me for it. I will definitely be back and thank you so much for the experience.

This place is not only very authentic but absolutely delicious. The tandoori chicken tastes just like my friends mom used to make in India.
The Samosas and chicken lollipop starters are always a family favorite.
All the other dishes were equally as delicious.
And not to forget the service. Very friendly.

Royal Curry did something I’ve never seen before!!! The waiter placed each plate down using a cloth napkin so that his hands did not touch our plates. Now that I have seen it I wish that every restaurant would do the same!
I was very pleased with the entire experience at Royal Curry. From the moment I sat down the stage was set and I knew they were going to make this an exceptional lunch. My table was a bit wobbly and unlike most places that expect you to stick a pack of sugar under a foot the host took time to level it with a plastic spacer checking until it was correct. We ordered 3 vegetarian options and enjoyed all of them. The samosas are delicious and so were the mint chutney and tamarin sauces. The butter nan is the perfect scoop. Don’t be afraid to ask for Spice. We ordered our dishes a little between medium and Spicy but will go for spicy next time. The channa Masala was excellent and the creaminess of the paneer tiki masala was delicious. The portions are certainly generous and shareable. The ordering and payment system are convenient and streamlined. Indian food in general has such a depth of flavor and Royal Curry will not disappoint you. I hope that this restaurant becomes one of your traditions too!!
