Royal Buffet
Stopped in for the buffet and was honestly impressed. Everything I tried tasted fresh and well-prepared, which isn’t always easy to find at a buffet.
The seafood was the standout — the clams were fresh, the shrimp were perfectly cooked, and even the crawfish were flavorful and not overdone. Sushi was fresh and nicely made, and the hibachi was hot, fast, and cooked just right. Every section of the buffet was solid — nothing felt like filler food.
Plates were constantly being refilled, food stayed hot, and the overall quality was way better than expected. If you’re in the Scranton area and want a buffet where the food actually tastes good (especially seafood), this place is absolutely worth a visit.
I, Would definitely come back again.

While I believe the service could benefit from a more professional approach, particularly in terms of communication, this does not diminish the fact that this may be the best Chinese buffet I have ever experienced. The food stands out for its freshness, quality, and flavor, surpassing any other Chinese restaurant I have visited. The establishment itself was impressively clean, and parking was convenient. Overall, I am pleased we chose to dine here, as the variety of options was remarkable, ranging from soups and salads to five different types of dumplings, along with an extensive selection of meats, vegetables, and noodles.

Great food and quick to serve drinks but there is a waitress or two who always expects a big tip. Whenever you give the specific waitress a low tip, she gives an attitude. Even to this day I dunno what her name is but I still feel like crap for it. Still good food and some of the other waitresses aren’t like that

I’m leaving this review based on my personal experience with a takeout order. I picked up food here for myself and my son, and when we got home to eat, I found something in the food that was extremely disturbing to me. I went back to the restaurant to show management, hoping for help or at least for the issue to be taken seriously. Instead, I was dismissed. The woman I spoke with said it was “flour,” laughed, and said, “You must be kidding, bye,” before walking away. No effort was made to actually look into the issue, apologize, or offer any resolution.Regardless of what it was, finding something unexpected in takeout food especially when it’s for a child is upsetting. The way management handled this situation was unprofessional and unacceptable.Because of both the food issue and the lack of concern from management, I will not be returning.

Food is good. Wish they would open back up the other half of the buffet to justify the continuous price increases. I understood it being cut back 5 years ago during the pandemic, but we are long past that and would love more options again. Also was less than pleased to be chased down after paying because we dared to ONLY leave a 18% tip and the waitress demanded more. Though I appreciate good service and tip well everywhere we dine, that day we were left with empty glasses and no refills, and had to beg for our check. I felt 18% for coming by once to remove 3 plates was more than deserved.

Great Food, But Rushed Experience
We visited this Chinese buffet and were impressed by the wide variety of food options. The sushi selection was fresh and plentiful, definitely a highlight for sushi lovers. There’s also a hibachi grill station where you can customize your plate—just a heads-up, there’s a tip jar, so bring a few singles to show your appreciation.
They also had a small salad and pastry section, plus kid-friendly choices like pizza, fries, and chicken nuggets, which was perfect for families. And of course, all the Chinese-American classics were there—egg rolls, boneless spare ribs, chicken wings, and a flavorful General Tso’s chicken.
The only downside was that about 35 minutes into our meal, while we were still eating, the server brought us the check and told us to have a great day, which felt like a not-so-subtle way of telling us to leave. It put a damper on an otherwise enjoyable experience.
Overall, the food variety and quality are solid, especially for the price—but the service could definitely be more considerate of diners who want to take their time.

Great place place to stuff yourself with some good food. Its your typical American style Chinese buffet. Im always content with the selection offered. I would say what could be done better is the seating. The main room is nice but one of the side rooms seems cheaply set up. Its definitely not a deal breaker but theres always room for improvement.

Ok I usually don’t write these but this place was AMAZING. such a good price for all the food you can get and such a variety. idk why it’s only 4 stars it should be 5 lol… best hibachi noodles i’ve ever had and it is VERY clean in there. they also have buffalo wings, and as someone from buffalo this is the best wings i have had outside of buffalo lol i was shocked. id go there just for that. there was not one piece of food i didn’t like. wish i had a place like this near us in buffalo!! also idk why ppl say the server rushes u she just is quick to clean plates which i like bc i dont want dirty plate in my face lol. she was very nice and waited until we were ready for our check. drinks came super fast too.
would definitely come back if we drive by again.

We were on a road trip and totally forgot it was Thanksgiving in the US—most places were closed except Royal Buffet. Since it was the only option near our hotel, we gave it a shot. Thanksgiving dinner was $21.99 per adult and $13 per kid.
The food was alright—decent variety. Sushi was surprisingly not freezer-tasting, but the flounder was pretty bland. The ribs were okay. The fresh salad and fruit were a highlight, and the stir-fry station was the real MVP. You pick your ingredients, and they cook it up with teriyaki—it’s super tasty but crazy salty. Wings were meh, and the rest was typical buffet stuff.
Overall, it was decent for being the only thing open. Service was quick, and parking was easy. Only downside? The stir-fry cook low-key hinted at a tip to my wife, which was awkward.

Extremely good, best Chinese food I’ve ever had beside from New York, NY. Very clean and food was always available. Servers were on top of everything as well. I will definitely recommend this place and be back.
Amen
P.S.
I don’t know how people are hating on this place it was excellent. Stop being miserable and broke. Servers did not demand a tip or even mention it. Maybe just leave a tip next time and be a human in this society.
