The wife and I were looking for some good African food and found this place because it was one of the two closets places. The other place we’d tried to go to a couple of times was either never open or closing when we got there despite having hours that stated otherwise. So Royal Arm it was even though it was 25 minutes away. But I’m GLAD we made the trek because the food was amazing!
Nothing is under a heat lamp and it is cooked right when you order it. The food was so good, I was eating off my plate and my wife’s plate! And somehow, 15 minutes in, my food was STILL hot enough to burn my mouth. Everything was seasoned just right and cooked to perfection and the service was great! If you are craving some good West African cuisine in Katy (or anywhere in the Houston arwa), you can’t miss coming here!

This has got to be THE BEST West African food in all of Houston. I’ve been to many restaurants serving West African food and NONE of them beat this place. The ladies that work here are so lovely too. I can’t wait until they finish renovations to go back immediately!

I recently had the chance to try Nigerian pepper soup and fufu for the first time, and it was just as fantastic as many of my friends had recommended. I chose the medium-hot assorted meat pepper soup, which had just the right amount of heat for me. The soup was very savory and aromatic, thanks to the herbs and spices added to it, making it quite complex. The assorted meats, which included various offal, were tender and delicious. The fufu was a great accompaniment to the soup – it absorbed the soup while also reducing the pepper heat in my mouth. I would definitely go back to try other dishes.

Wow! What a delightful experience! We drove all the way from Pearland based on a recommendation from a co-worker. We were greeted warmly by the nicest young man. (So sorry I forgot his name) He patiently answered all our questions and offered suggestions. The food was amazing! It was fresh, hot, and soooo good!!!! We will definitely be back.

Goat and rice. Chicken was OLD like day old. The goat was old and really just bones. God requires a reasonable service. Really disappointed. Spent $50 two dishes both unedible. Old reheated food with sauce someone could get sick. Waited 30 mins.

Be ready to wait! They make the food as it’s ordered, so it will be fresh. I waited for about 35 minutes for my food however it was well worth it. The kind lady took good care of us and I loved the food. I say this as a person who doesn’t like African food. I’m elated to have found an African restaurant that I can enjoy. I had to take a picture with the kind lady who serviced me (I think she’s the owner) because of how overjoyed I was to have found an African diner I can enjoy. I will definitely be back.

nice place, seems family owned. great prices! i didnt know the closed at 8p but, even right at closing they took care of me. i would say order ahead to avoid waiting.
