Roux 61 never disappoints! The gator bites were absolutely top tier—perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. The catfish fillets platter was just as amazing, fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. On top of the great food, the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Definitely a place worth coming back to!

We went on a Saturday (11/1) evening so there was about a 20/25 minute wait. The atmosphere was lively and friendly. We sat near the back bar, the service was good and the food was yummy. We got fried green tomatoes, grilled oysters (both ways) for starters. I got the seafood potato but I swapped it out for pasta. The hubs got fried catfish. There was absolutely no complaints from either of us. We’d definitely be back.

Nice atmosphere with live music on the Saturday night we visited. The chargrilled oysters were delicious. My husband wanted a ribeye and they were out . He had the chicken club and it was good. I had the red fish with shrimp and pasta. It was delicious. Our server never refilled out drinks or asked us if we were ok..

I have been eating at this Roux 61 since my honeymoon in 2012. The shrimp and alligator sausage cheesecake, which is my most favorite dish that I eat every time I visit, was not the same quality as the tens of other times I’ve eaten it. I never would have ordered it the second time had it been that bad the first time. But the service was the worst. Our waitress, Melanie R., disappeared every time we ordered, 20 or more minutes just for the drinks and they weren’t alcoholic just tea, water, and soda. Generally a tip lets the waitress know their quality of their work, I know because I’ve waited tables myself. When you have no control over the tip, you have no way to give feedback. We waited over 30 minutes for bread pudding and an alligator cheesecake to go. Had to get the manager to get the cheesecake and the to go drinks. DISAPPOINTED doesn’t begin to describe my disgust to see such a quality restaurant fall so far.

Told there was a 45 minute wait for a table on a Saturday night…understandable. Asked if we could go to the bar to have a cocktail while waiting. We sat and were asked for our drink order and if we wanted to order food too. We did both and John, our bar server, was very friendly, fast and efficient with his service. We ordered a cup of gumbo which John shared with us what to expect in the taste. It was delicious and tasted like my Cajun French grandmother’s. Just like any local dish, depending on how your family made it may be different than how it will be cooked in a restaurant and for us this gumbo was excellent.
Portions are generous so share or be prepared to take home. For our main dish, we had the grilled shrimp and the Pasta with shrimp. The side salad was a perfect size and was so delicious with the toppings. Don’t let the negative reviews keep you from coming here.

We had a very nice dinner. Service was friendly and efficient. The reason I can’t give 5 stars fir the food is, even though everything was delicious, the portion sizes are insane, especially our pasta plates. I think there was a whole pound of pasta on my plate. On the other hand, the side salad portion was ridiculously small. The menu is not designed for health-conscious people. No vegetables offered except salads. The lobster cream sauce is delicious but resulted in acid indigestion… I would eat there again but would share my plate with 3 other people or take some home, and add an extra-large salad! I also glanced at the size of their desserts and they’re enough to serve a family of 8!

We went on a Thursday night and it wasn’t busy. We were seated immediately and our waitress seemed to be new as she didn’t know much about the menu. The food was OK nothing to write home about. A very mediocre experience which isn’t terrible just not extraordinary

This is top tier dinning!! A bit of Southern charm sprinkled about and the staff lays it on thick!!! I started with the fried green tomatoes appetizer with a smoky bacon sauce. Lawd, that dish was straight from heaven’s menu. The secrets in the sauce (pun intended). I was full before the entrée arrived. The portions are plentiful along with drinks. Pace yourself and enjoy delectable dishes with the southern charm from their staff. The highest rating I can give is “EXCELLENCE!!!” Thank you for an awesome 1st experience but don’t tell anyone I came back the next week and I’m not even remotely near the area lol. IMPRESSIVE!!
