. . after my sixth visit trying this restaurant out, I thought it was about time to do a review. I have been holding off on reviewing this one because since my first visit a few years ago, I have had mixed feelings about it . . not so much about the quality of food . . but about the atmosphere (too bright and cafeteria like) and especially, the prices (too high).
Just last Friday, my work friends and I went in for breakfast. I have to say that the lighting and atmosphere has improved in the narrow middle booth section of the restaurant, significantly but the front and back sections are still too brightly lit. Aside from the berry pies being too sour and as if they are sugarless, I have found everything else I have tried there to be good and above average. The service was good as well. All four of us had a satisfying meal last week but this is not a place I would visit on a regular basis, mainly because of the high prices. It feels like people are being gouged somewhat on the cost, every time I go in and see what is being asked on the menu. I realize inflation is affecting everyone but I think the prices are still a bit too high overall compared to many other places that I definately would revisit without reservation. This is a pretty rural agricultural area on a narrow state highway . . but the prices are more, urban.

The Place is nice and charming, the staff is kind and friendly , I don’t know if is usually , but I was excited to try the smoked burger and I have a bad experience, it was flavorless, the angus beef just taste like cheap pantry meat, then the the fries were saggy, I thought it was only me and I have bad luck that day sometimes happens, then my daughter said her Mac N cheese was Salty and we all try it and it was very salty ,the wings was like bubble gum no crispy it all , I can fell the skin of the chicken kind of rubber, the best of all is the are generous I their portions, and looking good food , it’s the fisth time we don’t finish our food , we were unlucky with our experience, but it’s always god to give a try if you are exploring food , this is our perspective only , but for the price it does not worth it for us, this is the first low review I made ever and its just our opinion .
Thank you and we wish you the best .

We stopped by Route 99 on our way to California, and the parking lot was conveniently located around the restaurant. As soon as we walked in, the staff warmly greeted us and guided us to our table. It was a bit cold inside, so I kept my jacket on, but the service more than made up for it.
My husband and I shared the Smoked Cheddar Burger and ordered a cup of chowder soup. When we mentioned that we would be sharing, our waitress kindly split the burger into two portions for us, which was a very thoughtful touch. The burger was flavorful, the chowder was comforting, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Overall, it was a pleasant stop during our drive, and I would give it a solid 4-star experience.

We discovered this restaurant about a month ago when out on a day trip. Recommended to us by the neighboring service station! The food selection was very good, proportions were large and delicious but, just as important another thing I really appreciate was the clean and friendly atmosphere! The staff was lovely. We liked it so much that we found ourselves here one month later!

The food is mediocre BBQ… I love BBQ but this was just… Not great… I would not go out of my way for this place. If I was in Brooks and NEEDED to eat…this is the only real restaurant in Brooks… So I would probably eat. But I would not be excited about it. Presentation is nice. Server Louise was AWESOME!!

First had the Breakfast Sampler, and it’s a big plate covered with biscuits & gravy, loaded hash browns, ham, bacon, sausage, [scrambled] eggs – far more than two hungry people could eat.
Came back to try the Smokehouse Sampler – pulled pork, beef ribs, bbq beans, bbq sausages – again, more than two of us could eat. We ended up with two big sandwiches the next day.
Tried the cheeseburger – I’m extremely particular about them – and while all of the ingredients are fresh and cooked to order, I found the experience lacking. If I could recommend a couple of changes, they would be to change the buns to Franz 6″ Sesame Seed buns, smash the current quantity of meat to cover the bun, and offer it either with their bbq sauce or formulate their own ‘special’ sauce.
One thing: If you try nothing else, order some bacon and/or ham. You’ll thank me for it!

Great meal. I had breakfast, pancake, eggs & sausage. Most of their portions are big, so I split mine with my mother. And it was still plenty of food.

Incredible service, I mean like, they REALLY knocked it outta the park. We were a big group and they rocked our lunch! Food- amazing! But again, the service- so good! Great space, will definitely be back for checking out the Brooks bar on a night to rock out!

Very friendly staff and the food was well above average. Ate with a group of five and had no issues getting a table at 5pm on a Saturday evening. The menu is OK but doesnt offer much for those on restricted diets. Two people in our group basically ate parts of a salads and took the rest home. Not much they could do sense nearly all the protein items, meats, were breaded or deep fried. I think there’s a steak on the menu but even thst comes covered on sauté mushrooms. Anyone on a heart healthy diet would be best to eat elsewhere.
Another issue we had was noise. The dining room its very large and sounds carry well. Two tables the night we dined there had guests who, for the lack of any better way to put it, were childishly loud. Any parent would have asked children being that loud to “use your indoor voice.” However when the person’s being rudely obnoxious and loud are well into their 60’s its likely not an option to rely on their parents for polite behavior. Now, of course, the restaurant has little control over the loudness of its guest. But the menu is something they could work on.

The welcome was very intimate when entering the facility. Family of 5 and the seating by the back door was uncomfortable seating directly under the air conditioner. However, the food, baby! Was to die for. The food was crafted with love, and the portion was enough to share with another family. I highly recommend and approve this restaurant. If you second guess, you are missing an experience.
Try em now!
