2-7-25 /;So I wrote a recent entry and forgot to hit save. I came here recently and ate their breakfast which is really nice because you can get it at other times during the day then just a normal breakfast hours. And it was very good.
My wife and I came back tonight for the New York strip steak that they have put on the menu. And may I say they have redeemed themselves. This steak is wonderful.

This is very frustrating. I’ve had at least half a dozen reviews of this place Period And Google has somehow deleted them all.
8-2-2025. I’ve been coming here for quite a few years. Off and on. I’ve had reviews nearly a five here and it was really good and today’s of only a three and it was not so good. I’ve watched management and ownership change here five times. When the current owner came here he was Reducing prices and improving menu selection. He has another cook who seems to be better if you can catch him in. I am sorry to say but at the current time Prices are going up And food quality And selection are going down…. You Can’t get brisket anymore here. They run out Of barbecue and chicken Often. You can’t get ribs anymore here. Can’t get a steak here. You can’t even get a country-style steak here. One time the okra will be good and the next time it’ll be so heavily breaded that you might as well go to McDonald’s. I had a simple 2 egg breakfast With one side And toast this morning & coffee and including a normal 20% tip my breakfast bill was over $14. Two eggs, Tenderloin And tomatoes, no other sides. The tenderloin was itty-bitty and it really didn’t taste good. Sorry I must to go to Heritage Or eat at home.. I can’t afford to spend $14 for breakfast. One of the workers at 64 Diner used to be the owner and the manager… Maybe she will get it back and I will come back. but my trips here will be few… I brought seven people here Wednesday night and it was okay. I would have given them a 4 then but unless they improve I won’t do it again….
The owner was telling me how food prices were going up. But I go to the grocery store and eggs are quite a bit lower now & thank God finally food prices have stabilized. Anyway I mentioned that the tenderloin was too small and told him I couldn’t afford to pay that for breakfast and there was no remedy… you couldn’t get in Heritage parking lot it was so busy this morning. That’s why I came here today. And under similar circumstances I may come here. But I sure hope I have a better experience than I did today. If I have a better experience I will tell you. If Google doesn’t decide to delete my review.

went for breakfast and it was great. they had home fries. the service was quick and great never ran out of drinks. and the food was done right and i even questioned how big where the eggs because for 3 eggs it was a good portion.

Very friendly staff, had the pull pork plate with loaded mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese. Everything was tasty but only 4 stars because the pulled pork was not steaming hot , barely warm.

Went there on New Year’s Day 2026. The owner waited on us. He was very friendly and informative. The food was great! I love the HWY 64 theme inside and outside of the restaurant.

Food was not as good as before. Definitely don’t get any sides. Onion rings were very oily and burnt. Mac n cheese was bland.
Tater tots were ok. We both got the bbq chicken breast sandwich, meat was tasty. Overall tasty sandwich & staff was friendly.

The great service at Route 64 diner left a favorable impression. The food arrived at the table hot and full of flavor. The rosemary pork loin, house salad, and hot brownie sundae were very good. You might want to arrive early for dinner because it fills up quickly. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend that you try this charming diner.

Down hill, that’s where this place is headed or is, in my opinion.
You know it was really good.
But not anymore. I’ll include a picture of a $20 plus meal.
But it was a BBQ sandwich, an order of fries and a tea and a brownie. Yep, $20+
Last Thursday, I stopped in and ordered two of these sandwiches, an order of fries and tea it was $30 plus
Neither time was the fries fit to eat. Get a new fry cook. They are never done and sometimes cold inside I don’t know how you managed that.
Sandwiches were good
Tea was good on Thursday’s visit, but not today.
Well, I honestly can’t say I will ever stop here again… kind of sucks it was on the way home.
I see a lack of commitment in this place like they have something else going on.
