This place is great. Stopped there on our way back home to Seattle, and we had a pleasant surprise. The owner is very friendly, the burgers were top quality and the milkshakes the way it should be – real ice cream and milk.
The French fries could be better, and the decoration is not the most modern, but I would recommend this place to anyone going through town and appreciates good burgers.

Stopped for lunch while traveling from Portland to John Day. Friendly and extremely caring service. Good food, somewhat large portions. They have a nice little salad bar with a assortment of toppings and dressings.

I and my group waited over 1 hour for our food after ordering, despite there being only a couple other customers in the store and two cooks. At approximately the 45 min mark we inquired about the status and were told our orders had not been started yet but would be made next. We asked for something small on the house to help with the wait (e.g. small dessert) and were refused. I asked for a discount on my meal and was refused. Food itself was mediocre. I felt that the staff were pleasant but missed opportunities to provide adequate service and customer satisfaction. The experience was frustrating.

Bar staff was so overwhelmed that there were more than 2 people in the bar. In town for HS rodeo, ended up a good note because the owner despises our governor as much as we do. Drinks were strong, so I was happy at the end of the night.

Let me say first off that this is a bar, so minors cannot accompany you. In my humble opinion, this is the best place in town to get a sandwich. Open after 3pm or so, they don’t skimp on ingredients and they get the flavors just right. Their roasted Parmesan potatoes side is very good. Everything they make is good. They are thoughtful about their food and know what’s good. If you love a flavorful, creative sandwich, this place will be your jam.

My favorite meal here is the Chicken Chipotle Club. It has a nice amount of heat, a whole slab of chicken, and really great flavors. It’s so big, I can only eat half a sandwich… but I want it all lol The French Dip here is really good also and is my second favorite meal at Round-up Grill. So far, they are the best French Dip in town. The Carnivore sandwich is also worth a mention and is an interesting flavor combination. Again, they don’t skimp. This is a big sandwich.

They also serve pizza, which is very popular. The sauce is uniquely flavored and when they add ham, it is interestingly in a cube shape rather than Canadian Bacon. If you want a pizza that doesn’t taste like a chain store pizza, this is the place to get it. You can also order birthday and other special occasion cakes, made from a unique wheat flour sourced locally.

They often serve groups and many local celebrations are hosted here. A group comes in for weekly bingo. There is shuffleboard, lottery games, two pool tables, and a juke box. They host seasonal events such as the most popular Halloween Party with a DJ or band, NYE parties, etc. This is also a great place to have a meal and watch the game. They have been known to feature open-mic nights and there is a surprising number of local artists who come share their talents.

The atmosphere is western and fun. It features antique ranch items and brands on the walls along with art from local artists. It has a pretty quiet crowd around the dinner hour, but after that it can liven up considerably.

This is one of only two places to play pool in town. If the place is really jumping, pool players will have to share the floor with people dancing around the jukebox. I have been both people; we make it work :D. The other place to play pool is the Elks Lodge, but you need to be signed in by a member in order to play there and they have only one table, so Round-up Grill is infinitely more approachable.

The Round-up Grill has greatly improved in the last 6 months or so. After new management and remodeling of the inside, the R-up has come a long way. I recommend anyone who has qualms and past negative experiences, that they give the R-up another chance. =) Just a little disclaimer: The R-up is a restaurant, not a fast food joint, so don’t expect your food immediately and enjoy the things and company around you. If you are one of those who isn’t prepared for that, then go down Main St to Gubby’s Drive In, or next door to Country Flowers

No really. You hear nothing but positive things about the food here. Drinks were good and service great. This would have been a 5 star anywhere, but to have it in Condon we are blessed!
