Sirs, I an contacting you today to inform you of the beneath extremely low customer service I received tonight at the Destrehan location and the inept lackadaisical manager you have on staff. At 6:06 PM we placed an online order that told us it would be read at 6:36 PM. At 6:40 PM we arrived to a packed dining room, which is great that so many are supporting a local business. Once I reached the bar, the wait staff informed me that it would be another 20 minutes until my order would be completed, I thought ok it’s a Friday night, no problem. So we went to visit a local pet shop until the meal would be ready. At 7:06 PM the wait staff said it would be a little longer. At this point the plethora of customers at the bar waiting for their online orders indicated to me that they had been told due to the dining room being so full all online orders had been de-priortized and placed at the back of the queue. Customers at the bar had been waiting for over 35 minutes for their online orders and were as frustrated as I was. I did not receive my order until 7:34 PM, almost an hour and a half after I ordered it. Take in consideration we are loyal customers to this location and used 2500 points for this order. Understanding my frustration I asked to speak to the manager at which the wait staff retrieved Manager Michelle Nelson. After expressing my frustration and not accepting excuses from here I asked for her district manager or the corporate office, she went to the office and provided me a “Corporate Office” number. We received our food and continued home, while I called the “Corporate Office” number, turns out it was a number to another Rotolos branch in Baton Rouge. Ms. Michelle Nelson, knowing she had in dining room customers and online customers waiting allowed up to 5 employees to smoke in front of the store and not stay attentive to the waiting customers. Additionally, I personally witness her completely mismanaging the food being placed in the window for pickup which was inaccurate to the dine-in customer’s order. My interaction with her was gruff and she was dismissive to me and all of her online customers, mind you I was in the store for over an hour watching online customers being dismissed. I feel she is incompetent and unqualified to run a kitchen much less be a manager for a busy restaurant. Once we arrived at home our pizza looked like it had been sitting for an hour, low temperature and no cheese pull, our salad had brown and wilted lettuce, and the pepperoni pizza had no pepperoni on it. Again this goes back to the the inept mismanagement of your manager Michelle Nelson. As a Google Maps reviewer with over 25 million reviews, I will be leaving a less than positive review of our experience. This is shameful and deplorable as a customer to experience this. I would recommend that you re-evaluate your business practices at this location and provide additional training for the staff and consider employing a new kitchen manager and branch manager who comprehends that regardless of an online order or in-person order revenue is revenue and the customer if promised a time, that time should be honored. Remember the Seinfeld episode regarding the car rental reservation? You take the reservation but you don’t honor the reservation. This type of distrust leads to non-returning customers. Needless to say, Destrehan Rotolo’s has been scratched off our list of dependable list of local restaurants. I will be leaving a negative review on Google Maps and Yelp. Please fix this. Our food was sub par and the dogs didn’t even want the crust.
Tried to order online start at 8:35 pm after have issues with the online order I called at 8:45 & was told “We like close in 10 minutes” if you work in the food service industry…
I HAVE & still do!!! And you don’t want to take orders or seat a table 15 minutes before closing then change your hours.
Don’t start cleaning until after closing if you don’t like working after your posted hours to fulfill the closing duties then find a new job.
On the other hand, the young lady at the register was so amazing to me. It’s people like her that make me happy to come here, even with just ok food. I’ll be back.
