We visited during the week during lunch and there were several groups dining with plenty of space left. We were seated right away and our server was at the table quickly multiple times while we ate.
The food was great! The atmosphere is cozy with a very comfortable diner feel. Everything was very clean, service was excellent, and the food is easily worth an hour drive in any direction.

I have been coming to Rosita’s since the start of my college days in August 1973 when Rosita’s was just a one room restaurant. They have since expanded to accommodate all their many customers. I order the same thing I first ordered back in 1973. The taste and quality remains exactly the same. Whenever I feel the need for Mexican cuisine, I will drive 1.25 hours to have my favorite meal. I also get a carryout to take home. I love this place and you will too!

Just found this place, which has apparently been a Dekalb staple for 25 years. The food was very good, and serving sizes were appropriate. The greeter and wait staff were friendly and responsive. The restaurant seating looks as though it has grown over time to expand into several adjacent spaces; a clear sign of success.
I wish we had discovered this place years ago. We would have many times chosen this option over the tollway oasis food counters during lunch and dinner times.
By the way, the salsa with the chips has a pretty good kick; I love it!
Outside seating area next to the building, but it was too cold last night for that.
Give this place a try. Obviously, it’s a favorite with students, locals, and travelers alike.

I recommend some options at this restaurant. I absolutely love the pollo del rey! strips of chicken breast grilled to perfection with a slightly spicy Mexican seasoning on a bed of rice with sauteed green peppers and onions, and two melted cheeses. $14.89. I also love their ground beef tacos or enchiladas, perfect flavor! I unfortunately think the cheese they use for certain items detracts from their food. It’s not a high quality cheese or a mexican cheese, I usually take it off my taco’s. I recommend going to Rosita’s on Thursday nights because it’s $5 margaritas and I absolutely love their margaritas because I don’t think they’re that strong which I enjoy. I also see that they offer $5 watermelon margaritas on Tuesday which I’ve never had but will definitely try soon. I like to try different flavors when they’re so affordable but my favorite one is frozen strawberry! One important thing to know before you go is that Rositas does not offer you free chips and salsa, for whatever reason they bring you salsa and you’re welcome to use it with your meal but no free chips which really sucks. Final point, I’m not sure when restaurants started doing this but Rositas has a service charge for some reason. I’m not a happy camper about the service charge, no free chips or their subpar cheese. Sorry about the pictures, I forgot to take them before eating. Our receipt had an incorrect price because it was the Thursday special for margaritas and they fixed it when we left. Service has always been great at Rositas.

Love their pulled pork nachos with Monterey jack cheese, jalapenos and pico. Delish! Their margaritas are good too! The patio is perfect to sit at. The atmosphere is so nice ☺️

Literally one of the worst Mexican restaurants I have ever been too. The prices were high and the food was very little. The cheese tasted like school or prison cheese.
My fajitas were in a swimming pool of juice. And nothing was hot.
It was all warm like if it was sitting there under a lukewarm heat lamp.
At least the music was good.
