My husband and I visited on Friday December 25 as we were out in town overnight during the snow and we had an awesome time!
Rosie’s was decorated beautifully with disco balls and lots of holiday cheer! Our bartender was awesome, she greeted us as soon as we sat down and gave us a rundown of the menu.
During this night there was a fun group bar crawling and it felt nice to be among a crowd as we’re not from the area. The service was impeccable and the food was amazing! We hung out for about 4 hours or so and if it wasn’t for the snow we would have stayed longer!
We love Rosie’s and we love the people of Amagansett! We will be back! ❄️

What an amazing place to eat. 10/10 experience from the perfect service, the food and the incredible atmosphere.
Our server Oliver was fantastic and went above and beyond for us, after giving us the bad news that they didn’t have three of their desserts due to the homemade ice cream being sold out. He made sure to bring us the first pull of the fresh batch.
We couldn’t have had a more pleasant experience, we will absolutely come back again and can’t wait to do so! Thanks again, Oliver 🙂

I now live full-time in Southampton, but spent years in the city running a restaurant-focused blog—often spotlighting places without celebrity-chef fanfare. Out East, that instinct hasn’t changed. And if you ask me where to eat—which happens more often than you’d think—there’s no place I recommend more readily than Rosie’s.
Here’s why.
It isn’t Jean-Georges. It isn’t a buzzy outpost of Wylie Dufresne. And thank goodness for that. What Rosie’s delivers instead is consistency—genuinely good food and a team that understands hospitality in its truest sense. At the center of it all is Stephen: warm, professional, and quietly exceptional at what he does. The kind of presence that sets the tone without ever announcing itself.
This matters—especially on holidays.
Thanksgiving is a complicated one in our house, marked by recent loss and a general sense of emotional tiptoeing. Wanting something that felt special (and pescatarian-friendly), I made the fatal decision to book a “fancy” East Hampton seafood restaurant we don’t normally frequent. The hope was that it would lift the mood.
What we got instead was…diabolically disastrous.
A request for water somehow turned into a procession of servers delivering a teapot of steaming hot water with lemons. Confusion snowballed. By the time the branzino arrived—deboned away from the table due to space constraints—it came back cold, slimy, and alarmingly inedible. At that point, there was nothing to salvage. We left.
Deflated. Surrounded by full dining rooms. Happy people, us, out of options.
Then my mom said it: “Why don’t we try Rosie’s?”
We called. They were open. Hallelujah.
Minutes later, we were in Amagansett—greeted by seasonal décor that deserves its own write-up, firelight flickering softly, and the kind of warmth that resets your nervous system. The staff welcomed us like they meant it—Seb, endlessly kind; Hector, sadly missed that night but always remembered; and Stephen, the true backbone and heart of the restaurant- appearing with hugs and a genuine sense of care that immediately made the day feel recoverable.
And then came the food.
Stephen insisted my mom and sister try the lobster bisque special. What arrived were not polite tasting cups, but generous mugs—closer to a rich seafood chowder, steaming hot (as soup should be), loaded with tender lobster and followed by an involuntary chorus of “mmm.” We also shared the scallop special: beautifully cooked, resting on a cloud of polenta I would happily take home by the quart.
From the regular menu: my sister’s salmon—which she maintains is the best in the Hamptons—was slow-roasted, just set at the center, flaking easily without a hint of dryness, finished with a champagne cream that pulled everything together.
And then there’s the mac and cheese.
This dish has become a personal problem. Served in its own cast-iron pan, it arrives sizzling hot with aromatic cheese wafting upwards with a crisp, bronzed on top, molten beneath—indulgent in the most unapologetic way dish. I think about it daily. My waistline does too.
Other staples worth returning for: the breakfast burrito (arguably the best this side of California) and the much-talked-about scones—TikTok may love them, but here, the buzz is earned.
If consistency matters—if food that never wavers and service that feels genuinely human make the difference—Rosie’s in Amagansett is easy to recommend. And even easier to return to.

We came here for dinner in October before seeing a show at Stephen Talkhouse. We found this on the map and saw their menu that was posted outside and it looked good.
We sat at the bar. The bartender greeted us and provided menus quickly. We ordered drinks – both were very good. I had a mule that was unlike any I have ever had and it was excellent. We had the salmon and the pasta special for dinner. Both meals were delicious. The pesto sauce on the pasta was so good I wanted to add some of it to my salmon.
The bartender was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was casual and cozy yet upbeat. The decor is fun and unique. Good vibes all around. I think this is a place you can come hang out with friends and be casual or get all fancied up for an intimate date.
Prices were what we were expecting – a little higher than the usual places we go at home in rural PA. We parked on the street not far from the restaurant. There was plenty of parking spots.
This was a great dinner experience for us.

Rosie’s in Amagansett is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated restaurants in all of the Hamptons. From the ambiance to the service, it’s consistently a great experience every single time. My husband and I go there several times a month, and it never disappoints.
The menu has a wide array of choices—truly something for everyone—and the food is always consistently excellent. The entire staff is welcoming, friendly, and genuinely makes you feel like family. You can tell they enjoy what they do, and it shows in the overall experience.
On the rare occasion there’s an issue (whether with food or temperature), it’s handled professionally and courteously. They truly appreciate feedback and use it to improve, which is refreshing. They also go all out with decorations for every holiday and season, which adds such a fun and thoughtful touch.
The drink menu deserves special mention—every place should take notes. The cocktails are well thought out, and I love that the menu includes photos of the glassware so you know exactly what you’re getting.

We stopped by for a take away coffee randomly one time and the owner gave us a freshly baked scone sample to try as we were on our way. It was so delicious, that we made a point of coming back on our next road trip our to Montauk and dined in just for the scones. Phenomenal. The staff are also super friendly and we couldn’t have had a better morning at Rosies.

Good experience at Rosie’s. Came around brunch time on a Sunday and waited only 5 minutes for a table for 2. The place itself has a big outdoor area which is nice to sit at. It’s nicely decorated reminded me a bit of brunch places in Miami.
We got the breakfast burrito with chorizo added which tasted good but a bit too full with rice. The scone was really good for a scone, didn’t run dry or anything. They usually run out of scones early so be early.

I was impressed with the reviews! They did not disappoint! The food, atmosphere and service were awesome! The also comped some goodies for our anniversary! Can’t wait to go back in the warm weather to experience their patio!

All the dishes were very nice. We particularly loved the delicious cherry pie, while the ribeye and the burger were very tasty. The staff was professional, friendly and very accommodating.
