This is my new favorite spot in Durham! Rose’s Noodles, Dumplings & Sweets is hands-down one of my favorite places to eat in the area. The food is creative, comforting, and full of bold flavors — you can really taste the care that goes into every dish. The dumplings are delicate and perfectly seasoned, the handmade noodles have great texture, and the desserts are absolutely incredible (don’t skip them!).
I came here for the first time and ordered a steamed meat bun, the winter sweet potato salad, the House Iced Jasmine Tea and for dessert I got the citrus upside down cake. The food and dessert were fantastic, but the jasmine tea was not my favorite, but that does not mean it was bad. It was just not my favorite flavor.
The staff is friendly, the atmosphere feels warm and inviting, and everything is clearly made with love. Whether you’re out for a casual dinner or a special night with friends, you can’t go wrong with Rose’s. By the way, the restroom is beautiful and clean.
The only small issue is parking. There is no street parking, but there is a public paid parking lot about a block from it.
Overall, highly recommend!

I love Roses noodles. It’s a staple local Durham joint serving exceptionally warm and cozy food. The flavor on their broths are always excellent – thick and savory homemade noodles. My favorite are their belt noodles – best I ever had. Love the bar style seating. Only true locals appreciate this place for what it is, and it hits the spot every time. No other place does baked pastries with home made noodles so well together. They’ve perfected the formula of the food they serve – 10 out of 10 every time.

This is a cute restaurant/bakery! The seating situation is a bit confusing if you’ve never been there. It you want to sit inside, sit at one of the open tables and the server will come take your order. If sitting outside I think you have to order at the cashier and then take a number outside with you.
The food came out within a reasonable time period. I got the pork/mushroom ramen. It’s good, but definitely different than ramen you’d have in Japan. It doesn’t have that traditional miso flavor. But I was impressed with the soft boiled egg! It was perfection.

TLDR: Dessert is great. Food is really really salty.
Me and my boyfriend tried 6 items here in total. The pork bun, the roasted chicken spring rolls, chicken belt noodle, vegetarian belt noodles, passionfruit tres leches and the apple cider mochi cake.
If I’m being honest, I would only ever come back here for the bakery. Everybody needs to try their passionfruit tres leches! It’s literally the best cake I have eaten in a long time! The apple cider mochi cake has good texture, flavor is alright.
Onto the 2 belt noodles dishes, noodles and vegetable texture are great, but they are so salty to the point of inedible. Like they dropped a package of salt and then added ocean water on top of yhem salty. If I had two kidneys working properly before eating their noodles, now I have one – and even that one is on overdrive. Seriously, I paid 40$ for these noodles, do better!

Ehh.
The dumplings were super tasty
However we saw that our food arrived another table first , then they took it back to our table after it was touched.
Our drink was kinda forgotten
It’s a little hard to hear
The noodle soup was good but so tangy
The katsu sandwich was a bit bare but ok . Overcooked a little
The lemon meringue pie was Great.
Reservations are super recommended

Wow everything was so fresh and great flavors! Asian fusion for lack of a better term. Counter seating and close cafe seating. Boldly created dishes but it all worked flavor wise.

This is a very unique place! The bakery is the highlight, their pastries and cakes are amazing. I especially loved the cinnamon carrot cake cheesecake and the passion fruit tres leches. I wasn’t as impressed with the savory foods here. The spring rolls were mostly filled with rice noodles, and the sandwich was good but overpriced and lacked structural integrity. Menu and baked goods seem to be constantly changing so it’s hard to know what you’ll get when you go, which is hard if you find a favorite dish that then disappears or prefer planning your meal, or it can be good if you like a surprise and variation and adventure. Staff are super nice.

If you like Asian and Asian-inspired high quality meals with seasonal and elevated ingredients, you got to try Rose’s. Their ramen and belt noodles are the best I have had in NC! The only downside is that the space is small and the seating is tight, which means if you are waiting for your turn at lunch time it may get tightly packed. Their desserts are mostly great but I prefer to fill myself with all the savory goods and take my dessert to go oh if you are into it, their Apple mochi cake is one of the best GF desserts I ever had. The photos are randomly chosen between 2018 and now and their menu changes regularly (accommodating seasonal ingredients) so don’t expect the same food when you get there! Oh they have fantastic drip coffee, too; if you want to have a sip while you wait. I should warn you, if a dish is titled as “spicy” that means it is very spicy – not your average American spicy.
Update 2025: We moved from the triangle to the Bay Area and Rose’s is the place we miss the most!!!

I have seen this place from the outside but never thought about going in. OMG, it was good. Food made fresh and full of flavor. This is going in my regular visit list.

Another little gem we found driving around near Downtown Durham, this place does great Chinese buns and handmade noodles. The ramen was a hit, but so was the trout Onigiri and the pork steamed bun. Be sure to stay for or at least have a peek at the baked goods, they are as delightful to look at as to taste. We’ll definitely be going back.
