I highly recommend a reservation and keeping an eye on their system for the time you’d like. It’s easy to book through Resy!
Now the experience. We had Daniel this time and he was as lovely as our other team members we’ve had in the past. He was whimsical and made great recommendations. We’ve had the fixed menu before and came on a Tuesday they offered à la carte because we specifically wanted the options we loved in the past. We started with a Lychee Lemon Fizz which is non alcoholic but refreshing and went well with dinner! There was also a margarita which was spicy just how I enjoy.
We had their truffled Madeline bread service that was delicious. Then we went in on the Pork & Lychee Salad and the Super Charred Cabbage. The flavors of each of these were fantastic, just as we remember.
Then we enjoyed the spicy tteokbokki which was PERFECTION. Simply fabulous. Whoever has the receipt, hit me up.
Then for the finale, we decided to enjoy one more pork & lychee salad along with a tres leches cake. Little sweet and savory action to finish the evening.
Again the hospitality among the entire staff is lovely, inviting, and incredible. The food is simply delicious and I’ll always be back for more.
Parking is paid on the street & plenty of it. They take into account any sensitivities when possible for dining. You’ll feel special and valued as a patron every time. Enjoy!
I was in town on a solo trip to celebrate my birthday — I’ve never had a fine dining experience before, but I decided to treat myself because this year a started my first career job outside of college. I was a little nervous to be in such an unfamiliar environment, but that quickly slipped away when I was greeted enthusiastically and warmly.
A HUGE shoutout to my server Daniel who made me feel incredibly welcomed and comfortable. He gave wonderful recommendations (and so did Sam — my wine was superb) and gave great details about each dish. I also just had a lovely time chatting with him!
With each dish, new flavors sparked my tastebuds. As soon as I took a bite of the truffle madeleine, I knew I was in for a treat. The pork and lychee salad felt like eating fireworks (in the best way possible), and both of my pasta dishes were well balanced and incredibly flavorful. I think every other cacio e pepe I eat moving forward will disappoint me…totally worth it! Miso glazed cod over a bed of buttery potato’s and topped with bok choy…are you kidding?! And then to finish it off, corn bread fried ice cream. It felt like heaven in my mouth.
As I was eating my meal and looking around at the busy bar area filled with chatter and laughter, I was reminded of the importance of celebration. I was moved to tears as I got to witness (and be a part of) a space full of excitement and humanity. What a joy it was to eat here. Thank you Daniel, Sam, and everyone else who made my time so wonderful. You guys rock!
Everything we had was great, especially: Pork & Lychee salad, baked cauliflower (off menu item), pasta in paper, fried pork, and the mole dessert. We also had the jalapeño margarita (pictured) and the That’s My Jam cocktails, both were fantastic.
The setting is beautiful, like an outdoor courtyard, but inside! The staff was welcoming, energetic and friendly. Throughout the evening, attention was showered upon us with each new course.
The cocktails we ordered were well made and delicious. Each course was delivered with an explanation. Although we enjoyed some items more than others, we tried everything. It was delicious and we were stuffed when we were done.
If you are looking for a special evening with delicious food and great service, I highly recommend.
The service here is some of the best in DC, from the moment you walk in and are greeted by the hostess down to the kind and quick person who refills your water before you even realized you had sipped half your glass already.
I enjoyed the variety of flavors and fusions of food groups.
