My husband and I were craving Thai food so we gave Roses kitchen a shot for a carry out lunch. We looked up their menu on Google and saw an outdated post so we ordered from there. The gentleman who answered was very nice and helpful!
We ordered the soft spring rolls, pad Thai, and yellow curry. I was surprised that he asked what level of spice we wanted from 1-5. That means everything is made to order and from scratch.
The soft spring rows were packed with lettuce and the peanut sauce was really good! I just wish they would give us more since the rows are so big!
The yellow curry I ordered spicy level 4 and it was very flavorful, but not too spicy. I got it with shrimp, which was a $3 up charge. I was a little disappointed that it only included 5 small shrimp. I’ll probably go with chicken or beef next time. The potatoes were a bit hard but still edible. The flavor was worth it though.
My husband ordered the pad Thai and he was raving all about it. He says it was so delicious and even better than Saps pad Thai. He definitely wants to go back for more.
Overall, I thought the food was good and delicious! They have a lunch special that I might take advantage of as it seems like a great deal! There is plenty of parking available. The restaurant itself is small but feel very authentic. There is both tables and bar seating. We will be back for sure!

This place is a hidden gem! Noodles have a delightful texture and the sauce is one-of-a-kind. Great serving portions and fast service! In an area with limited eating options outside of chain American restaurants and TexMex galore, don’t sleep on Rose’s Kitchen!

So very good. I read about Rose’s Kitchen in the Austin Chronicle a few years ago and I remember thinking… I need to try it. Forgot about it and one day driving to my husband’s doctor’s appointment via Google Maps… We passed it. Almost like an Oasis in the distance. Told myself to make a mental note. The day finally came and myself and a friend were able to make our way for lunch. Delicious, cute, cozy, neighborhood spot and just delightful all come to mind when describing our first experience. It is very small.. But I think that’s what makes it so charming. The aroma of Thai deliciousness hits you when you enter this neighborhood gem. My friend and I ordered the Lunch Bento Box and what an amazing deal it is! You get a good size cup of the daily soup, salad with choice of dressing… We both got the Peanut Sauce… Duh… What else are you going to get at a Thai Restaurant, choice of three different appetizers, fresh fruit and entree. Perfect portion for lunch! I actually had enough of the entree… Thai Green Curry to take for tomorrow lunch. The daily soup was really good, the salad was perfect amount to feel healthy and pallet cleanser, chicken dumplings were fried to golden perfection, green curry had a nice ratio of chicken to veggies and the fresh fruit ended my lunch perfectly. We also ordered Thai Ice Coffee and Tea. Both had the right amount of kick to it and were not overly sweet. Service was attentive and quick. Restaurant was very clean. It is a very small spot inside. I look forward to going many more times and exploring the menu more. Great first experience!!

Tried Rose’s Kitchen and it’s some of the best Thai food in South Austin!
We had such a wonderful experience! The owner, Mike, was warm and welcoming; he even shared a bit about his connection to Thailand, which added a personal and authentic touch to our visit.
We ordered the Basil Fried Rice, Pad Thai, and the Green Curry. The Green Curry was absolutely delicious – rich, flavorful, and you could tell they use high-quality coconut milk. I had a few dishes with tofu, and Mike thoughtfully asked if we were vegan or had any dietary restrictions, letting us know they’re happy to accommodate if we had dietary restrictions.
Highly recommend this spot! We’ll definitely be back.

I came to place an order to go, and Yessica was so kind. I went through the menu. Everything looked delicious and wanted to try the pad Thai and one of the fried rice. She helped me pick out a fried rice. Then went to describe the different spice levels. I went with a two which she correctly identified is about a Sriracha spice level. The golden fried rice is delightful. The curry flavor is perfect. The spice level amazing. The chicken was great as well. And then the tofu pad Thai amazing so good great flavors. The best Thai food that I’ve had in Austin I went and got the Siamese cheese rolls as well, so good,so interesting, the sauce with it top-notch. 10 out of 10 recommend this place.

I’m a big fan of the original Rose’s Kitchen, so I was thrilled to hear they were opening a location in my neighborhood! They’re still getting settled in, with a limited menu and some finishing touches being added to the decor, but it already feels like a warm and welcoming spot.
The food is just as delicious as I remember. I ordered my go-to, the Pad See Ew, and it was fantastic. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the sauce had that amazing balance of sweet and savory that makes this dish so addictive.

My wife and I had the egg rolls, tom-kha with tofu and drunken noodles with brisket and the food was absolutely out of this world delicious. So much flavor, it was insane. Especially at the humble price point. We came in an hour before closing and the service was great! Thai teas are an honorable mention as well. Will definitely be back – soon!
