Masterful. Roseland Apizza is a wildly underrated gem in the Connecticut pizza scene – undoubtedly on par with Pepe’s, Sally’s, and Zuppardi’s (honorable mention to Modern, though that personally is lower on the list). With that said, each of these legendary pizzerias exist within the highest echelon of pizza not just in Connecticut, but in the world. Roseland Apizza deserves to be included in the conversation as just that: one of the best pizzas in the world.

Some of the best New Haven style pizza around. Incredibly flavorful. Even a simple tomato pie or pepperoni will make you wonder why all pizza doesn’t taste like this. Dined in for the first time having gotten take out many times before. Take out has never had any issues, though dine in service was quite slow for our party of 7 at dinner time on a Sunday. We were seated right away in their side room due to some lucky timing. This place is always busy and does a lot of take out orders, so I’m assuming this isn’t uncommon. However, the food is absolutely worth the wait and basic atmosphere. If you are here for delicious pizza (and garlic bread), you can’t go wrong here from their white pizzas (we had the mashed potato and bacon this time) or red pizzas (we had a mozzarella, meatball, and bacon, they were out of pepperoni during our visit). I can’t speak for their salads or Italian entrees, but they have had consistent high quality and deep flavor throughout all the dishes we’ve tried thus far, so I’d be surprised if those weren’t also delicious. Looking forward to trying the white clam (to compare against Frank Pepe), the other multitude of pizzas on offer, the grinders, and the entrees during future visits.

I’d done the “big 3” pizza places in New Haven so wanted to expand my horizons outside of town. Roseland has been around since 1935 and clearly has a devoted following — the place was packed, young, old, and families, at 6:30pm on a Thursday. My medium pie with meatball and complimentary fresh garlic was delicious — an excellent blend of the flavors. Write your own name and party size on the taped-up paper when you arrive, or else someone might cut in front of you which happened to me haha. Plenty of room so the wait was not long.

Pizza is always delicious. Service is fast too. I wish their phone worked so we can eat here more frequently by placing take out orders. It’s a little different than the NH pizza spots but very delicious. We moved from New Haven and are very happy that this spot is nearby.

Roseland’s provides a stable pie with great flavors, a wonderful sauce, charred to perfection in a humble, warm family atmosphere. I hadn’t been here since I was a kid, but the recent visit validated my memory of the food being exceptional. The arugula salad is the best- the crisp mushrooms make it!

Roseland Apizz is a hidden gem I want to keep to myself. They make the best New Haven style pizza. The crust is crunchy and delicious. The cheese and sauce have a perfect fusion, giving it the color i love to see on my pizza, and the taste confirms the delicious visual.

Great pizza offerings -three of us got 3 small pizzas and enjoyed them all. Chicken/Spinach/Prosciutto, Potato/Bacon, and Red Pie with Grated Cheese – always say yes to the garlic! They also have Foxon Park sodas as an added bonus!
