We wrapped up our visit to Chicago at the Rosebud. The waiter and staff were wonderful, prompt and courteous. The bruschetta was delicious, with the bread on the crunchy side. The lasagne portion was for sure enough for 2 normal appetites. The tiramisu was delicious. The wine paired well. It was not busy at all on a Saturday night in January.

The happy hour appetizer buffet is a good deal. I used to work in the same building as this place so my coworkers and I would frequently make carry-out orders from them during dinner. The food is reasonably good but it is definitely NOT healthy (lots of olive oil, butter, cheese etc.). The menu is not very extensive. But the seating areas in the open-air lobby are nice. The place gets PACKED during lunch and before theater events.

The two pasta dishes we got were quite good although not quite as good as other Italian restaurants in other cities. The price was fair but there serving sizes are way too big which I am not a fan of so be sure you can eat the leftovers in the upcoming days or else you will waste a lot of food.

Great service, About once a week when I am running late and need a quick breakfast I will pop into this express Rosebud’s for a breakfast burito special. Literally all i need to eat is a half and I am full for a good portion of the day. The special will include a fresh squeezed OJ or coffee.

Started with Brushetta which was fantastic and based on that I really anticipated my meal. Ordered special for the Friday evening – Petite Steak with Garlic Red Potatos. Never had a better steak in texture and flavor. (Well, maybe in France). But I think that I have tasted the sauce for the steak in a Stouffer’s Salsbury Steak. I like to at least taste the garlic in garlic mash potatoes. The bar is not separate from the dining room which I will take note of in the future. On a Friday you are going to get way too much noise from the bar to have any kind of dinner conversation. A redesign should be considered but it was my bad for not seeing that before sitting down. Service was very attentive.

While the caeser salad was fresh, both the main dishes ordered were not even worth eating. My chicken parmesan tasted like something from a frozen microwave dinner. Yes, the portions are enormous but if the food is horrible, that’s not really a bonus.

When I first saw and heard of Rosebud I really felt it was going to be overpriced fair that wasn’t worth my dime.

Pretty good Italian place in Chicago. The ambiance and location are great. The food was decent but you get tons of it, so you’ll definitely have leftovers. Go here with a group on a special occasion

The service was surprisingly fast for what qualifies as a “fancy” restaurant. The food is always good when I go here – the price for drinks is a little higher than ideal but not bad for Chicago.
