Great atmosphere. Staff seems very friendly. However, waited 45 minutes and no water or appetizers, Nada. We were seated but table was not cleansed from previous patron. We were told that they were out of most entrees. It would be better to come earlier in the week as they only stock once weekly.
I had high hopes for this place as the atmosphere was spectacular. I can’t speak on food as I never got any. We finally begged forgiveness after 45 minutes and left.

My wife and I were in Tazewell the first week in February on business and had heard about this place and decided to check it out. The young lady that waited on us was great. When we ordered they were out of half the things we picked off the menu.
The only thing that was good was the French Fries. I had to settle on a burger due to the reduced selection, it was like eating a piece of cardboard. My coleslaw was OK but I have had better.
My wife got a salmon patty sandwich the was cold in the middle and the bun was hard and dry. The chicken that came with her salad was over cooked.
Probably won’t go back.

Ordered a crispy chicken sandwich. It was literally an actual Tyson chicken patty. The mash potatoes were instant potatoes without a doubt. I ordered the cheese fries and were not crispy and had canned yellow cheese dumped over them and that’s it. My wife ordered the same sandwich and the bill was $41. For a freaking chicken patty. If you don’t believe me go order the sandwich and see what u get. Even gas stations use chicken breast or tenders that actually deep fried chicken breast. The server that waited on us was extremely nice though. It looked like someone ordered chicken tenders behind us and they looked good. Why not put them on the sandwich and it would have been good. But no….we got Tyson chicken patties. I want to see this place do really well but there’s no way if this is what you get.

Great flavor. Got the catfish plate with baked beans and collard greens. I felt the portions were lacking in size compared to the price ($20 for a tiny filet with the sides being in small bowls). My nephew got the rib plate with macaroni & cheese and baked beans. I thought the mac and cheese was great (I tried a bite). The ribs were overcooked to the point of being mushy. All in all, the catfish was excellent. An extra filet would have been nice and more filling, but I do also understand that running a restaurant in 2025 is expensive and you have to look out for your overhead. I just thought it was a steep price for a small amount of food. Service was average.

While passing through Tazewell, VA we stopped for lunch at Roscoe’s Soul Food restaurant. Our server was attentive, polite, and gave us some great recommendations when we asked. The food was very good with generous portions. Thank you Roscoe for a memorable lunch, we will stop again next time we are in town.

For starters not everything was bad about this place, they knew how to cook meat well but anything outside of that they was HEAVILY lacking in from service to even basic hygiene. The server we had could not even bother to really notice us unless we got his attention and never checked up on us once, not even to check if are food was good or any problems. Are food for the family was not brought out together but piece by piece constantly and we had a check put down on the table before even HALF the food was out with the restaurant pretty empty at the time. One of the employees which we at first thought was a customer because he was walking around with his pants partly down where EVERYONE could clearly see his boxers but close to the end of are meal we saw him bringing out food and working. Should have some form of formality in his clothing while working because that put on a bad image. On top of that this same employee while we was on are way out my fiancee was taking are little girl to the bathroom and the employee went into the bathroom used it and came out NOT washing his hands and went right back to handling customers food!! The only upside about this place is that there main food was good but the sides was NOTHING to rave about and for a soul food place the food was heavily lacking in the good amount of seasoning that soul food has a reputation for. For the price point of the food it should definitely at least have more seasoning to it.

✅Looking at our new local restaurants nearby me (<3 miles from Cultivation Culture) and I have a really good feeling i will be eating this amazing smelling barbecue food, macaroni & cheese, beans, and even more delicious menu items to try more than once! Especially if The BBQ tastes as good as I hear & if The BBQ tastes as good as it smells!

The hot dogs were Outstanding: fresh made chili, good wiener, fresh bun; made to order. Pulled pork was also a good start. It was well seasoned, even though not smoked. and generous serving. Would definitely order again, H.D. and Pork.
