This is a Montavilla staple. You can’t beat old school movies, good beer selection, and of course the southern/Cajun menu is always legit. When you want great cornmeal fried catfish with fried oysters to match at a fair price, this is the place.

My love prefers cocktails, I prefer beer. She craves gumbo, I crave sushi. She feels at home in a dive bar and I…well, I’m lockstep with her there. I’d venture to guess there’s no other grogshop either side of the Mississippi where such stars collide. Roscoe’s is a gem. Mount Tabor Village is lucky to have this anchor holding down a ‘main street’ corner.

The BEST fried oysters in all of Portland, hands down. The crust is uniquely from heaven. Great staff, all around. Thank you!

Roscoe’s is a fun dive bar with pool, drinks, and serves sushi from the restaurant next door-Miyamoto’s.
When we first arrived, there wasn’t any seating so we played a round of pool. The table takes quarters, so you may need to head to the bar to grab coins. A table quickly opened up next to the pool table so we grabbed it. It was busy for a bit, but the place did empty out after a while. There’s also some pinball to play.
If you are wanting to buy Miyamoto’s sushi from Roscoe’s, you do need to purchase something from Roscoe’s as well. I think this can be food, alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. We ended up buying the chicken strips appetizer. It was good, but I do wish the chicken was crispier.
Bathroom is sketchy and dirty, hold it in if you can!
Overall a chill place that I would return to and grab a drink.

We tried to eat next door but it was packed so we wandered to Roscoe’s, which was empty – for a reason, it turns out. The service was fine but the water glasses were so gross and cloudy we didn’t want to drink from them. The food looked amazing but was completely lackluster. I’m grateful that it was so cheap to eat there because I would have been upset to pay any more for the food that I had

But please… for the love of (your choice) god, can you chill w the cleaning solution?
I cant describe how potent Cintas is in here.
Add water and dilute your ish, idk. I can’t drink a beer inside without feeling like I want to vomit. 5 stars for everything else.
Weird I know.

Pretty up-scale meals for a place that looks more like a bar. Good atmosphere, delicious food, good service. No complaints.

Amazing selection of fresh hop beers right now. I love the fact that you can get sushi from Miyamoto and still enjoy the atmosphere of Roscoe’s. Service was on point. Highly recommended!

Wonderful pub vibe inside. Nice low lighting, friendly service, and good food for a reasonable price. A hard to find these days in the growing trend of locations overpriced for their location. Sports on the flat screen, pool, and gaming as well. I had the cauliflower “wings” which were great and broken down and had the chicken strip basket. The flavor for the cauliflower was just the right amount of tang with the sauce blending into the blue cheese crumble. Breading on the chicken was unique, like a savory, flaky tempura with tender meat below. Fries are wonderfully seasoned. I also tried their jambalaya that a friend ordered. A lite smoky flavor mixed with the classic holy trinity of vegetables, Cajun seasoning and a pleasant oily heat that grows with every bite. I will have to come back and try the other offerings.
