Reviews
The food was amazing! Full of flavor and love all the variety. The drinks come in the cutest cups and were delicious.
If you don’t like fun or flavor don’t come here. But if you’re into a good place with good food make this your next stop!
We started with a Classic Guacamole.
Our main dishes were Carne Asada, Big Papi Burro and Bandera Enchiladas.
We were pleased with the atmosphere, murals on the walls, great customer service and excellent food.
If we lived in the area we would frequent this restaurant.
Would recommend you try this location if you’re looking for some excellent Mexican food.
The Order:
Rosa Rolls –
Advertised as egg rolls stuffed with corn, beans, guacamole.
Actually are burritos identifying as egg rolls. They’re good, but not egg rolls.
Big Papi Burrito, (no meat, veggies)
She said “Fun to look at but is disappointing once it was in your mouth”. No flavor, no spices, just very bland. Yes, That’s what she said.
Sonora Steak was absolute trash! Steak would have been suited to be used as leather for a jacked. I was told it was Carne Asada. No it isn’t. More food disphoria. The flautas were good. Watered down beans and no rice.
Staff is good, really good.
Bar counter needs taller chairs. Unless your 6’3″ you’re eating uphill.
32oz Pacificos are the best value at $7

Okay we got the el jefe shrimp and it was battered and fried but the shrimp were big and tender and it was delicious . Needed a squeeze of lemon to make it even better.
Our server lost her voice, but was very kind and efficient and appropriate.
We are so excited to return! Keep this place open !!
My first visit to Rosa Mezcal was for a date night, and wow, it completely exceeded every expectation! From the second we settled at the bar, the experience felt both elevated and effortlessly fun.
Atmosphere & Presentation (5/5)
The restaurant is just adorable, a perfect little gem for a date. The upscale-chic vibe, sprinkled with playful touches like pink flamingos, makes the space feel unique and lively. But what really stole the show for me was the cocktail presentation. Every drink came in its own whimsical, unique glass, it felt fancy, creative, and so much fun to watch. You can tell they genuinely care about making the experience special.
The Food: Jaw Dropping Salsas & Phenomenal Tacos
Birria Tacos: We tried the Birria Tacos, and oh my, they were phenomenal. Rich, authentic flavor with the same depth you’d expect from a top-tier taco truck, but served elegantly. The consommé for dipping? Absolutely decadent. Depths of flavor!!
The Salsas (Seriously, Don’t Skip These!): I consider myself a salsa enthusiast, and while the complimentary table salsa was a little plain, Rosa Mezcal has a separate menu of upscale, incredible salsas (for a small charge—so worth it!). Our friendly bartender brought out two of the four available: Red Salsa and Habanero Salsa.
These were life-changing. The flavors were deep, vibrant, and exactly what you’d hope for if you were in Southern California or Mexico. I couldn’t stop eating them, and yes, I even took my leftovers home. The bartender laughed and said most people don’t do that, but honestly? I was thrilled to enjoy every bite.
Service (3/5)
It was pretty slow, and he seemed absent and a little unfriendly until I started talking salsa with him and telling him how much I enjoyed it and then he came back to let me know that he agreed, most Mexican restaurants are known by how good their salsa is. They did forget my green and creamy avocado salsas, the red and habanero were so good it was ok. I’m not a complainer. I just wanted to enjoy myself.
Bottom Line: Rosa Mezcal is a must visit for a fun, fancy, and unforgettable date night in Norman. Go for the cocktails, stay for the Birria, and don’t skip those extra salsas they are the true stars of the show!
I can’t wait to go back and try more cocktails and menu options. And I would absolutely love to see more skinny, diabetic, friendly girl drink options as well. That would be cool.
