Reviews
Fabulous restaurant with a wonderful ambiance, it made for a very enjoyable Valentine’s night. The staff were friendly, though not particularly attentive.
The menu looked gorgeous with plenty of choice, and the food itself was delicious with beautifully balanced flavours. However, there were some disappointing details: the plates were cold with visible grease marks, and the side dishes arrived freezing. These are small things, but at a restaurant as good as Rosa Madres, they really should be spot on.
While the flavours were excellent, the temperature issues took away from what could have been an outstanding meal. The steaks side salad, in particular, was underwhelming and looked a little embarrassing, with only a tiny amount of sauce.
Desserts tasted very good, though presentation could be improved, one plate even had two noticeable chips along the edge.
There was no butter served with the bread, and several menu items were already unavailable at 5pm.
Overall, it was a good meal with lots of potential. With a few small tweaks and more attention to detail, this restaurant could truly be excellent. Perhaps it was due to it being valentines night, we might hit have to give it another try.
My family came to visit me from Spain and I took them to Rosa Madre. The atmosphere was amazing, they gave us a really comfortable table and the staff were attentive the whole time. The price is totally fair for the portion sizes and, above all, for the flavour. We tried the burrata, the octopus and the oysters, I really liked all and was beautifully presented. The location is amazing too, just a two-minute walk from Temple Bar, so you can finish the night with a cocktail in the centre. My parents were really happy. I’ll definitely bring anyone who comes to visit me here, 100% worth it.
The pacing between the starter, main, and dessert was perfect, and everything came out promptly.
I also loved the quiet, classic interior.
I definitely want to come back and try other dishes!
The beef tartare was fresh and perfectly balanced, the paccheri ragu rich and full of depth, and the ravioli beautifully made. The tiramisu was an excellent finish — classic, creamy, and well executed.
The staff were very friendly and professional, communicating clearly in English and making the experience even more enjoyable.
A truly outstanding meal that I highly recommend.
For the main, I had the fillet steak and it was cooked just how it should be — tender and full of taste. Nothing fancy for the sake of it, just proper food done well.
They also have a huge wine list, plenty to choose from, no matter what you like.
All in all, a solid Italian restaurant with good food, good wine, and a comfortable place to sit and enjoy a proper meal. Would happily go back.
The food was excellent! The crab on toast and seabass croquette are a must to start (not in the pictures). We had oysters and parmigiana for starters, followed by the ragu for my wife and the lobster pasta for me. The lobster pasta was exceptional—the cherry tomato sauce was both sweet and punchy, perfectly complementing the lobster.
We were too full for dessert, but to our surprise, the staff brought us a small treat to celebrate our anniversary. It was such a thoughtful gesture, especially since they remembered from my booking.
For wine lovers, they have a fantastic selection to pair with the meal.
I couldn’t recommend this place enough! The staff was incredibly friendly, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was perfect for a special occasion. I’ll definitely be back to try the Gnocchetti Crab!
Ciao!
