My boyfriend and I came for our anniversary and loved their omakase!! The fish was fresh, each piece was unique and delicious. The service was also top-notch, super attentive without being overbearing.

I ended up taking off two stars because they allowed vaping indoors. I saw a guy smoke throughout his meal. I know some might not agree on this take but this was something that mattered to me. In such a cozy environment where you’re supposed to savor your meal, the last thing you want is the risk of second hand smoking. Honestly, I wish I hadn’t docked those stars because it really could’ve been a full 5-star experience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easily the Best Omakase Experience on Staten Island

I had an absolutely amazing experience here. I tried the Omakase, and every single course was on another level — super fresh, beautifully presented, and made with real skill. The chefs were incredibly attentive and didn’t rush anything. They waited for me to fully finish each piece before preparing the next one, which made the whole experience feel personal and authentic.

They also offer more than just Omakase. The carne salad was fantastic, and the sushi rolls were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. You can really taste the quality in everything they serve.

The staff was friendly, professional, and made me feel right at home. This was without a doubt the best sushi experience I’ve ever had on Staten Island, and I’m already planning to come back regularly. Highly recommend this spot to anyone who loves sushi or wants a true Omakase experience.

My family and I had the absolute pleasure of attending the tuna cutting event at Roppongi Robata, and it was truly an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was electric, filled with excitement, curiosity, and an incredible appreciation for Japanese culinary artistry.

Watching the chef expertly break down an entire bluefin tuna right in front of us was nothing short of mesmerizing. Every movement was precise, skillful, and educational. The team took the time to explain each cut, the texture differences, and how each one would be prepared turning the whole event into both a show and a masterclass.

And then came the sushi. Every bite was fresh, buttery, and bursting with flavor. The toro was melt-in-your-mouth amazing, and the presentation was just as beautiful as the taste. You could feel the care and craftsmanship behind every single piece.

A special shoutout to Vincent, our host for the evening, who made the entire experience even better. He was warm, engaging, and made everyone feel welcome. His energy and attention to detail elevated the event and made it truly memorable.

If you’re a sushi lover or even if you’re new to Japanese cuisine, Roppongi Robata is an absolute must-visit. The tuna cutting event is an experience you won’t forget. Exceptional food, outstanding service, and a team that genuinely loves what they do.

Roppongi Robata & Sushi offers a warm, quiet atmosphere that makes for a truly pleasant dining experience. I started with a lychee martini made with smooth Japanese vodka and natural flavors—absolutely delicious. The appetizers were flavorful, and the sushi was addictive—especially the scallop piece, which was my favorite. I also had the whole red snapper and some Robata skewers, and watching the chef cook was such a cool experience. The service was amazing—the gentleman who helped us was kind, attentive, and explained each dish so well. Highly recommend for both the food and the vibe.

Just tried Roppongi Robata for the first time after walking through the doors, the atmosphere feels so authentic and smells fresh. The waiter and chef members were so welcoming and escorted us to our seats. We ordered the Wakakusa Omakase which includes a variety of different premium fish, from king salmon to the A5 wagyu paired with their sake and cocktail options were amazing. After the course we also ordered some A-La-Carte which we had the O-toro sushi as well as the botan ebi sushi and the presentation as well as the taste was out of this world. They also offer different type of seasonal fish as the chef stated. Definitely will be back next time to try the Robatayaki which is there traditional Japanese grilling method!!!

Please do not go here. My husband and I both got mild food poisoning from this place last night. He had the “deluxe” sushi/sashimi for 1 and I had 4 different kinds of assorted rolls. I also had a skin reaction from something I ate there. We didnt eat anything from anywhere else so it was 100% this restaurant. It is ridiculously expensive for absolutely mediocre food and presentation. Go to Oishii or Nori instead where you’ll consistency in both quality and creativity.

We came here on a whim, just looking for a regular sushi spot. But what we found is a hidden gem here on Staten Island. We went with the omakase, and we were blown away. It was an unbelievably fresh selection of fish and garnishes. We had salmon, yellow tail (which was our favorite), red snapper, uni, scallops, wagyu with quail egg and other delicious selections. The staff was attentive and made sure our waters were full and checked in with us about our experience throughout. We would definitely recommend coming here for the experience and amazing food. They also have a regular menu , that you can select from!

Had this place on my list since it opened, and saved it for my bday being how excited I was to go. We felt like we were transported back to Tokyo just the year prior. The ambiance, service, food quality, presentation, chef skills, music, intimacy… a unique vibe for The Island. Even the robatayaki itself was enough. Can’t wait to go back.
