I love all the pretty murals outside and inside this restaurant! It has a great ocean view! It was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. My fried cod and waffle fries were delicious! This is a historic building and it gives really interesting information on the menu about it. My partner loved his crab and artichoke dip. They had Keylime pie, but I didn’t get it (THIS time!). One of my kiddos had macaroni and cheese and it was the Kraft kind so that made his taste buds very happy! Their food came out on frisbees!

I just want to say that Lexi was amazingly. It is hard to find good people in today’s world. She is one of the few. Food was amazing service was top notch. Lexi made you feel like family. It’s funny because when we first walked in the hostess immediately made a comment about my dog who is a service dog he has a leash that identifies him. You could tell that it kind of got under her skin and then when I asked to sit outside in the sand area to watch the sunset she told me that there wasn’t enough weight staff took accommodate that… mind you the reason I chose this restaurant was because of being able to watch the sunset outdoors. I was literally tested to just leave, but I know that one person can make or break. Lexi

Stopped in twice as located next to our hotel. First night, very good service and food was good. Smoked chicken wings were on HH and draft beer was ice cold. Portabella Mushroom Tacos were exceptional! On 2nd visit, draft beer was warm, not ice cold as day before and Tacos were dry and lacking sauce. Advertised HH 1/2 price Calamari and $1 per shuck Oysters on half shell were not available. Out-of-stock they said. Let’s see, how does this happen on Chincoteague Island with no oysters available? VERY DISAPPOINTED.
RETURNED in SEP 2025 during HH and raw “$1 per shuck” Oysters were FANTASTIC and crab dip was delicious. VERY HAPPY!

Okay. Im going to be honest. I really have come to hate the place over the years but it was late and there is nothing open late, we were starving so Ropewalk was dinner. Service was dreadfully slow. Food was crazy salty. I ordered the blackened halibut, it was really dry. The bang bang shrimp was so salty we couldnt eat it. The wine pours are 4 oz i assume. Thats not even something i ever complain about.
Mediocre food. Loud, crowded place. Live music wasnt even good. A neighboring table also complained their mac n cheese was too salty. I mean, dont you taste your food?
I will say this- those green beans are SO good! Thats it tho.
Will i return? Probably. But only because there isnt another option.

Sat outside at the bar with our server, Purell. He was fantastic! Oysters were amazing. Calamari was just OK. Still the atmosphere was perfect, our favorite on the island!

The calamari is on the spicy side, so avoid for cat tongues.
Plenty of kids options and the “plates” are souvenir Frisbee that come with the meal.

Set at the bar and it was a great experience. Food fresh hot and tasty. Bartender attentive fast and customer service was great. Frozen drinks a must try. Crab egg rolls were flavorful and full of crab meat. Oysters chuckled fresh and the clams speechless as well. Eastern shore is not to be slept on 2 1/2 hr drive well worth it

A little pricey but worth it. And the sunset view is breath taking. The entertainment top notch. Johnny MO is a favorite of ours. It’s a destination worthy of being a must do when visiting Chincoteague VA.
