I came here with high hopes as family and friends have told me it is great, and WOW Roots did not disappoint, as soon as you walk in you are transported into a truly breathtaking atmosphere, the staff are extremely well trained and are very educated on the whole menu and will answer any question you might have, once seated you are given the choice between tap and sparkling water, complimentary bread is then brought out, the bread is sweet and fluffy like French toast on the inside and crunchy on the outside, I then ordered the applewood smoked slab bacon for an appetizer, the prime cowboy steak for my main course and the roots sundae for my dessert and I was blown away by the whole experience! I definitely recommend going to Roots if you get the chance!

I give the wait staff and cooks 5 stars, our food was delicious and we were well taken care of, however the hostess staff deserves 0 stars. Made a 8:30 reservation and we didn’t sit until 9:30 we were told we had a short wait but waited 1hour and we were there for my wife’s birthday. The reservation system needs to be fixed as it seems they overbook. Our waitress did everything she could to turn the night around and she did! Thank you Maria!

Always delicious! We hadn’t been there in a while, but we’re very happy it was as good as always. Bar is perfect spot to wait for your table. Appetizers were amazing! Shrimp over bacon, NJ Burrata, & tuna tartare were perfection. Our ribeyes were cooked exactly as we asked and the whipped potatoes are a must. Great atmosphere!

I visited on a Saturday night. I made a reservation but noticed walk-ins were accepted with a short wait. I love the ambiance of this location. The staff was friendly and tentative. This place is great for date night *wink, wink*. The kitchen is artfully displayed depending on where you’re seated. The food is delicious; particularly the meat. I had the petite NY Strip Steak medium (featured in the pics). I will definitely be returning for more good food and memories.

Best piece of bacon ever, and that was only the first course. Last night, we had a round table in the center of the restaurant to celebrate my father’s 82nd birthday. Starters all the way to dessert was absolutely amazing. Everyone’s steak was cooked perfectly, and some other highlights were the fried chicken and salmon. Roots had an exceptional wine list and a spectacular bar scene for Ridgewood, NJ. SERVICE AND STAFF WERE ON POINT , with perfect execution and timing.
