I am not gonna lie Roots, y’all ruined my day with this bowl. I love your food but to anyone reading this JUST GO TO THE IN PERSON!! I got a pesto caesar (one with literally 2 sauces) and it was the dryest thing ever. Not enjoyable at all, and I am truthfully not exaggerating.

There’s not really any atmosphere or service at this location. You order on the app and this location is just a pickup. They do have 4 or 5 tables out front but they’re pretty shabby. The food is good though and the portions are large.

Best salad I’ve ever had! I always get the Mayweather which has sweet potato, kale, goat cheese. It’s very filling and very good! All the ingredients are fresh. Quick in and out.

Initially, I rated this place five stars, but recent orders have changed my opinion. While the taste is still there, the portion sizes have decreased. Despite paying for extra broccoli and chicken in three separate orders, I received the same amount as standard (sometimes even less…) it feels like being robbed out of your money.
My orders were often incorrect and contained the wrong ingredients. However, the staff was accommodating and issued refunds for these errors.

Food is good. Be aware that if you order on line for Charlottesville, you do not pick up on main street but at a separate location on Wertland off 14th street. El Jefe bowl was very good.. but the “create your own” salad seemed to have forgotten the dressing. Portions were huge!

I ordered from Roots kitchen last night on DoorDash and we ended up getting really bad food poisoning. For the past 12 hours, I’ve had really severe symptoms with chills and my stomach is rejecting every basic food from the BRAT diet. We ate the dinner and were sick within a couple of hours after dinner. We’re positive it was the dinner because that was our only main meal yesterday and didn’t eat anything else around that timeframe. I believe it may have been something off with the Cilantro sauce because two of our orders had that sauce and 1 had the Miso sauce (this person wasn’t sick). We all got just about the same bowl as well, El Jefe.
This was really unfortunate because we ordered from them with health in mind, but this definitely makes me hesitate to order from them again in the future. I hope the business takes responsibility instead of trying to claim it wasn’t them, since it’s such a straightforward case of food poisoning with them as the ONLY factor. But we’ll see..

Love Roots and their yummy bowls, but this is a shouts to the awesome Lily for helping me get my order fixed after I drove home and realized, hey, this isn’t what I ordered. In hindsight, should have realized at the store, but hey we all make mistakes (obviously, this story starts with one!). Thanks for being fantastic, Lily 🙂

Why on earth would you tape delivery orders on the folded sides TOGETHER instead of on the handles so we can carry the bags out and not rip them? I only come here for deliveries. I’ll never eat her. Full of rude staff who don’t care to even fix it either. Making that fall on drivers. Shame.
