If you’re driving the 89 through Sanpete county, this is absolutely a 5⭐️ place to stop for eats. It’s a little ways off the 89, but if you’re in the mood for a good burger, fries, shake, or ice cream then this is a great option. We tried the pastrami burger, 89 burger, onion rings, poutine, and a mango shake. Everything was really good, but we especially enjoyed the 89 burger, the poutine, and the mango shake. The 89 burger has bacon, onion rings, cheddar, and Roots sauce which has a little horseradish zip and makes a really good compliment to the rest of the burger. The poutine is unique in that it’s made with deep fried cheese curds. It’s really good. The mango shake was so good! The shake has a thickness in between a shake and a concrete. It’s whipped till it’s light and fluffy. The mango flavor was light and fresh. Another unique and delicious take on a classic by Roots 89. Finally, I also had a Red Rock soda with Diet Mountain Dew, strawberry, coconut, and cream. A very tasty combination! Definitely want to come back here and try the mushroom Swiss burger, some more shake flavors, and some other menu items too.

We stopped in at the Roots 89 Grill for some ice cream treats. We got milkshakes and hand scooped ice cream. They make their milkshakes with hand scooped ice cream instead of soft serve, which is a plus. The shop is a fun little spot with lots of outdoor seating in a very picturesque street.

I had high hopes about this place based on the reviews. But my experience here was terrible. First off, the food was very underwhelming given the cost. The burger was dry, the buns were old and stale. They make you pay extra if you want more sauce with your burger or fries. But the worst part was the service. Very dismissive and acting as if we were being a burden just by being there. Did not cut an avocado on my friends burger, just slapped a whole half on there. Told me to wait and we’ll get to it when they took 20 minutes to get one scoop of ice cream. Would not recommend. McDonalds has better service.

I’ve had good food here. But I’m less than thrilled with the service I received. I placed a pretty good sized expensive order. When I got home I noticed both of my mushroom Swiss burgers had meat, cheese, bun only. I paid online and it had on there that it came with sauce and veggies. So I called and was told it comes plain. The pictures online show it comes with at least lettuce, onion, and pickle. I can’t justify paying $11 for only a burger that has literally nothing on it. It was so dry.

Quaint little spot in Spring City. Reminiscent of an old soda fountain shop complete with amazing, delicious food. The ice cream was above and beyond creamy and satisfying.

Great place to eat in Sanpete county! Food is cooked to order, so might take a few minutes to get it. But definitely worth the wait! It’s nice to have such a great place in small town of Spring City. Plenty of seating outside with some shade. Yummy place to get ice cream too.
