This was our first time at a kava bar and Sammy was incredible! She was super informative and walked us through the menu and explained everything in great detail. She was very patient with all of our questions and so nice! They have happy hour every day from 4p-7p. Can’t wait to visit again.

I was told to leave for throwing trash away in a garbage outside two hours after doing so. I’ve gone to this location since 2018. I haven’t been to this location for three months and decided to go because I got along with most of everybody there including the staff.
I wasn’t given a warning or anything. How is it that someone who never caused an issue before at the establishment gets told to leave without knowing that I can’t have bottles thrown away in a trash can outside and cooperative?
The Rancho staff needs to calm down on jumping to conclusions without being reasonable. I already know who reads the reviews and it’s fine if I’m not allowed to go back when it’s a hurting feelings vs an actual issue at the store.
I understand why the Rancho regulars been saying that it’s not the same now in days. I didn’t believe it when people were saying you’ll get kicked out for anything. Now I get it.
I’ll probably be banned because I have a negative review, and I’ll update if I did to show how this location handles their work out of favoritism and non reasonable acts upon the smallest things.
If you want to experience being in a child care for adults, welcome to Rancho Cordova location. Be careful, you’re not allowed to use outside trash cans.

Like I said before, I cooperated and wasn’t acting negatively in any way yet the employee was acting like she was frightened for no reason. I was there for 2 hours and when I was already leaving is when I was told to leave. Should probably get the timeline and facts straight cause I wasn’t even refused service, I didn’t even order anything. I understand the point of no outside drinks but they were literally trash from a different day. And on another point, how about instead of telling the person to leave, how about let that person understand first what the rules are since it’s not displayed and I didn’t visit that location for almost 6 month. A person who’s been there for years comes by for once in about half a year, not given a warning or update on the rules or have them displayed outside since I never went inside other than the bathroom and told to leave after two hours of being there is pathetic. Anytime I have a problem with the business is usually from poor management so of course I’ll leave a new review with new faulty management practices and decisions. I’ve heard more horror stories rather than good stories with the Rancho location. It makes sense even since Roseville opened and management changed ♂️

That one Guy
Love the people and all of kava cultures environment. I throughly enjoy going here and have for awhile now. All employees except a select few seemed annoyed by my questions because security likes to bully me. Makes me concerned to bring up any questions with them. I shouldn’t be concerned with how my kava is made here at this specific location. I wish the owner checked on his staff more.

ever since Nick and Bree took over as the new management team, the demands on certain flavors and orders has been met with class and professionalism. They are turning the Rooted Happiness establishment in this location of Rancho Cordova into a fun stress-free relaxation for everyone to come by. I’m so glad I decided to go here one night with a friend. I did not know what kava was. The owner/manager was really nice, you can tell he really wants his customers to be satisfied with the purchases. Just a precaution – tea on tap can taste differently than what you might expect. They do not taste sweet or super delicious but they help you relieve. And do not drink alcohol or get drunk before kava lol.
I ordered the mint hot chocolate, the owner made it sweeter than he usually does and I love it. My friend got a bali tea which tasted sour, but she said it did help her with stress, muscle relief.

Loved this place. I did not know of Kava at all before seeing it on google maps while searching for bar. I thought of goibg and try it. The whole atmosphere of the place ia very friendly and you wont feel awkward being a total blank about kava. Staff is very friendly, the girl at the counter helped me choose a drink and told me all about it.
There are games, books to read and also a outdoor patio area. This is a place where you should go to spend some time. The drink is so soothing you wont feel like leaving for a while and the place is cozy afterall. I read some books and just sat there enjoyed the drink.
As per the kava itself, it is little bitter in taste and you should drink it in one go to feel the effect, thats what the lady there told me. The only and only thing I feel negative is that in my mango flavored drink I did not feel any flavor at all. It was bitter and with no flavor of mango. Maybe the kava is so bitter that you dont feel it or the flavor was little less, dont know. Explore this place, its fun.

Worst service possible. We come here every time and I had my ID and my boyfriend who has a rewards account only had a picture of it. The light skin girl with curly hair is new and just did not provide the same service and hospitality. He is 27 and I’m flattered you think he’s under 18 but you can easily verify it with a picture of it or just look up his account. You guys don’t scan IDS ANYWAY. There is not really a difference in picture or physical. It’s the fact that you are not consistent in asking for them other wise we would have made it a point to bring his. I had my ID and she still didn’t try to accommodate. It just is annoying after a long day of work and you go to a place you always go to and a new girl just acts so rude. Like she didn’t even try to be nice about like say sorry. Sorry goes a long way. Will not be coming back.

Tried Kava for the first time on my birthday and safe to say it was a great experience! We ordered through DoorDash and unfortunately, a majority of the items we wanted were sold out. PS: They don’t sell smoothies through DoorDash (SAD)
We ordered:

3. Mango Vanilla Dream
4. Kona Sunset
We received:
(2x) Cloudbreaker
Even though we did not receive the items we wanted, the people at Root of Happiness still gave us a free Cloudbreaker. (It was nice that we still had two drinks to split).
TASTE:
The taste of Kava is truly something that is acquired. The Cloudbreaker is rich and rooted with flavor. I would put the taste somewhere along the lines of alcohol mixed with really sour, bitter medicine. TAKE CAUTION. I was new to this experience, but I’ve always heard of stories of it making your lips go numb. This is TRUE. My lips started to have that tingling feeling like pins and needles. Be warned, the taste does linger so be prepared to have some fruit or juice to mix it with.
EFFECTS:
After about 15-20 minutes, I could really feel the effects kicking in. My body started to feel relaxed and I could feel a smirk coming on. Root of “Happiness” — boy did I feel happy. I would compare the effects to CBD. Slightly relaxed, overall chill experience.
A great experience for my first time trying Kava! Would highly recommend and I can’t wait to visit this Kava Bar in person.
