Friendly staff/host. Cool decor. Bread – decent taste but too chewy, difficult to eat, butter good/salty. Brussel sprouts – good flavor. Chicken and waffles – cooked well but flavor wasn’t my style. Pimento cheese – good. Service was slow and it was not packed. I would not go back again. Food was average.

Just a weekend out at Kitty Hawk area. I can always tell if a cook cares about the food when it comes out to the table. The fries were golden brown and my chicken BLT looked and tasted great! My husband had shrimp and grits with an orangy sauce. Was also delicious. I left a great tip bc the food was beyond delicious and the service was far above par! Thank you for the great meal.

This restaurant is nicely decorated inside and has a cool modern feel to it, which I guess is why it’s so highly rated because the food is only so-so. Our lunch came out at room temp and a few items such as soups and French fries needed to be sent back because they were cold. Overall I felt that the food was heavy and greasy, similar to diner food. They do have a mimosa bar which is cool if you’re into that. Ultimately I would not eat here again which is a shame because it’s very a very cool restaurant.

Very impressed! The personnel, the food, the live music! My husband had just the wings and couldn’t finish them. He raved about the taste. I had the fried oysters. I am from New England and am very picky about my seafood. I loved them. They weren’t overdone and had a light breading.

Great homestyle cooking. We had 11 in our party and we got seated quickly and the waitress was very prompt. Delicious food. Some of the favorites around our table were the fried chicken, steak and the turkey platter with stuffing.

My wife and I went here for a date night and received much more than what we could have expected. We ordered fried pickles which is our go to appetizer anywhere we go and these came out very surprisingly. So here at Roosters they use the long thin slice of pickle and these thing are delicious. So light and yet crunchy and very tasty. Some of the best fried pickles we have ever had. For our main course we happened upon a Friday night special which included 2 of the steak meals pictured and a dessert for a very good price of $48. The green beans appeared to be fresh from a farm and had a delicious garlic butter on them. The smashed potatoes were seasoned very well. The steak was fantastic. It was cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely. Overall an amazing meal to end our lovely day in OBX.

My wife and I decided to try Roosters Southern Kitchen for dinner on our first night in OBX. It was a great decision. Large selection of food and beverages. My wife went for the “whole-half bird” and I went with the pulled pork. Both were excellent choices. We will be back again.

Unique menu items. Fried green tomato blt. Husband got scallops and pork belly with raspberry sauce and potato salad. I had shrimp and grits. We had a waffle for dessert. The shrimp and grits had 5 med shrimp total. There was a piece of peel in it. Potato salad is made fresh. It atmosphere is nice with nautical decor. Super friendly knowledgeable staff. I brought in Mc Donalds for my daughter and the waitress was fine with it. I placed her food on the appetizer plate provided. We ordered the waffle for her and she decided we could all split it for dessert.

I had read or heard this was a great place to eat. We waited a long time for our food. Arrived around 400. Only one other customer in the place. Food was good not great. Great looking bar but no frozen drinks. Small unusual selection of desserts. Bathrooms not clean.
