I picked up and carried out. I ordered the Memphis style barbecue sandwich basket. It was a ton of food for about $16 post tax.
I don’t usually eat coleslaw by itself, but it tasted excellent and provided texture and a little bit of coolness to contrast the savory, juicy meat. The meat was well cooked, plentiful, and juicy, and with just enough sauce to make you know it’s there. Still a messy eat, but it’s barbecue. What do you expect?
The fries were well seasoned and crisp, too. They probably would have looked better had I eaten at one of the two booths in the restaurant.
I look forward to coming here again and trying their other menu items. I love it when I get great food at a low price, and this place is no exception.

Great small restaurant in St. Paul. Jeff was friendly and attentive. He cooked us some DELICIOUS chicken, BBQ chicken and cheese curds. All of it, a must try. Stop by and support a family run business that’s been around a long long time.

Wow, we ordered food for my son-in-law’s birthday; they messed up the order, forgot food, and one of the sandwiches was not made correctly. Their fried chicken is good; the owner has a nasty attitude when asking for the mashed potatoes and gravy that we ordered. I do not know how they stay in business when you always have an attitude towards your customers.

Ordered a burger basket and a hot dog. Burger was just a weak patty and bun. The hot dog was just a weak wiener and bun. The potato salad, like the burger and hot dog, had no flavor. Onion rings were mid. The worker does not know how to pack a to go bag. No ketchup, mustard, fork, or napkins were included. This joint ain’t even trying.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Roosters BBQ Deli, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! From the moment I walked in, the enticing aroma of smoky BBQ welcomed me, setting the stage for what turned out to be a delicious meal.
First off, the ribs were truly the highlight of the meal. They were smoked to perfection, tender and flavorful, with just the right amount of char. Each bite melted in my mouth, and I found myself savoring every piece.
The fries were equally impressive—crispy and seasoned well, they provided the perfect sidekick to the main event. I loved how they complemented the rich flavors of the BBQ without overshadowing it.
I also tried the large BBQ sandwich, which was absolutely amazing! Generously portioned and packed with smoky goodness, it was a satisfying treat. The Memphis-style BBQ sandwich with coleslaw was another standout; the blend of flavors was perfect, with the tangy slaw enhancing the already rich taste of the BBQ.
Overall, Roosters BBQ Deli is a fantastic spot for BBQ lovers. The quality of the food, combined with the warm and welcoming atmosphere, makes it a must-visit in Minneapolis. I can’t wait to return and try more of their delicious offerings! Highly recommended!

I had the chicken sandwich and my son had the pulled pork sandwich both were excellent but the chicken sandwich was super excellent! The breading on the chicken is so light and flaky it’s almost like a tempura. Really juicy and Delicious there’s a special sauce I couldn’t figure out what is what bit it was yummy

We drove from a half-hour out which ended up being at least 45 minutes both ways due to it being rush hour & it was WELL WORTH IT!!!!
The flavor & the crispness of the chicken was perfect!!! Chicken was seasoned ALL THE WAY THROUGH (which is important for me).
At first the ribs looked dry but I was MISTAKEN!!!! They were the MEATIEST, MOST JUICY, TENDER, & the THICKEST ribs I’ve EVER seen!!! They have a mild & a spicy BBQ sauce to choose from that was good. We chose the mild – which had a nice sweetness to it.
I will say that out of the sides that we chose; fries, onion rings, & potato salad. The onion rings were the best. The rolls were kinda hard & rubbery so we didn’t eat them.
There’s not much of a dining space for eating in due to the size of the place. They do have a couple of booths. They also had a couple of 2 seater tables outside.
