I had a few menu items. It was all delicious with really nice portions. I will get the fried rice by itself next time, it was so good I didn’t need to add a protein! I was impressed.
FYI: You call in your order and she will call you when it’s ready and also bring it down to you when you’re outside. She gives really great service.

I’m so happy to find an African food spot here in Merrillville! The food was good but for us, it was a bit oily and the meats were a little tough. The customer service was amazing and she was understanding. Overall, I will try other stews again!

I have been looking for an African food restaurant, yesterday I found this place and I went in today to try out the food. I got jollof rice, okra soup and egusi soup the food was so tasty everything was spiced to perfection!!! The food wasn’t too peppery it was just the perfect amount of spice and the owner is nice, food was out by the promised time and packaged really nice. Shes gained a customer and now I have a new restaurant. I hope to try pepper soup next time cause I really wanted that a lot. Thank you for the service. I had eaten the food and forgot to take pictures before lol that’s how good the food was!!!

Definitely not what I expected but so worth it! If you are in the Merrillville area and have a craving for an African dish go and support this small business owned by a wonderful woman. I ordered the Egusi with goat meat/pounded yams, Fried Plantain and an extra piece of Whiting fish and all of it was delicious. Ms Rookz did not disappoint and I will be back to try more dishes. The website allows you to pay with a credit card but cash or debit is a better option.

I had spinach with beef, fish & chicken it was delicious ! fufu was ok, would have preferred plantain fufu, perhaps I should have specified, however looking forward to trying other dishes. I’m very happy that she’s Nearby.

Absolutely delicious! Every bite was so flavorful. I’m so happy there is an African resteraunt near me. I will definitely be eating here again. Customer service was excellent as well. Price and portions are reasonable and fair.

I am glad I chose tho spot to get excellent food. The portions of the food from this place were massive (excess of everything), and the price were too fair for what you got. Now to the taste, oh my goodness! Everything was so delicious and FRESH! I had to highlight that freshness because nothing beats the taste of freshly made meals.

Awesome experience! Customer service was wonderful, and the lovely woman who answered the phone even taught me how to properly pronounce the name of a dish when I mispronounced it. The food was wonderful too, the meat pie is a must! I’d never had Nigerian food before this and some of the flavors in the soup were admittedly a little challenging to my extremely western palate, but that of course doesn’t fall on the restaurant – it’s just motivation to come back and try everything (and practice my fufu skills)!
