I absolutely love Rookie’s Sports Bar & Grill! This place is the quintessential Appleton sports bar — great vibe, tons of TVs for every game, and a fun atmosphere that’s perfect for hanging out with friends or catching up over drinks. The French dip sandwich here is worth every bite — the shaved ribeye with au jus is seriously delicious and pairs perfectly with their sides. The staff are friendly, the drinks are solid, and there’s always a crowd cheering on their favorite teams. Whether you’re grabbing a bite before a game or staying for Happy Hour, Rookie’s never disappoints!

Mac N Cheese bite appetizer was delicious, burger was good and so was the philly cheese steak. Wife’s salad was great and my sidewinder fries were excellent.
There was live music inside, which was cool, but a little loud for us. The outdoor seating was great.
Only complaint was the service was a bit slow and it didn’t seem busy. Also never got the waters we asked for.

I’m from Texas and this was by far shine of the best food I’ve had while being in Wisconsin. The avocado turkey burger was delicious. My son got cheese sticks and devoured them. Highly recommend, bonus the staff are friendly and efficient.

1st time at Rookies. Everything about this place deserves an A ++
The service is impeccable. Our waitresses Ashley went above and beyond. We asked about fan faves and she said we won’t be disappointed. We were with a group of 5 and sampled everyone’s choices. There was not a bad choice from out table. Would definitely recommend this place. Will definitely be back.

We’ve been regular customers for quite a while, and really enjoyed the food and nearly all of the servers. We especially enjoyed going there on Wednesday because they have trivia, and we could play along when we wanted.
We met other regular customers and got along with them too. One of them asked us to join their trivia team tonight, but we wanted to play our phone games together, so we declined, but then switched seats when she had other people join so they could sit together without us being in the middle.
The only person who wasn’t pleasant to deal with was a bald white male bartender. He made us feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived the first time and ignored us when we needed service every time we were there.
Tonight that man was there as a customer and screamed at me from across the bar because I said something when my food wasn’t prepared how I ordered it (battered vs breaded fish). I wasn’t angry or rude, but I have allergies and can get really sick if something isn’t prepared correctly.
Emily was the bartender helping us tonight, and wanted to do whatever she could to help us.
After his outburst, I excused myself to the bathroom so I wouldn’t become ill in public, and then went to ask him if he was an owner. He claimed that he was and told me to get away from him, so I walked away and sat back down.
Emily came back to talk with me after that, apologizing for his behavior, and saying she was mortified. I told her that I was fine, didn’t want anything else, and appreciated that she’d had my food remade the way I requested it.
If he’s not an owner, I hope the owner sees this and contacts me, because this would be a 5 star review if that guy wasn’t there.

We are new to the area and have been looking for a good place for fish. Having lived and fished in the U.P. I am very fussy about fish and how to prepare it. I never had haddock so tried the small sampler. It had one large piece of haddock, two decent sized perch, and three nice shrimp- all beer battered. I have to say this was the best fish we have found here. And the French fries were crispy ( something you don’t find much) and very good Cole slaw. My wife enjoyed her chicken wrap and the potato salad. The service was excellent. We will return. A very comfortable spot as well

Best bar pizza in Appleton WI!! Excellent cheese blend and crust is flavorful. Cut in squares, just how a good bar pie should be. I would recommend anyone who is looking for a great pizza and doesn’t want to order from a chain restaurant to call up rookies and place your order! Rookies is a perfect spot to grab a drink and some great food. Their burgers, sandwiches, and weekly specials are consistently always spot on. Eat local, no need for chain dining in Appleton!

Hands down the best Reuben sandwich in Appleton, if not the entire Fox Valley! Portions are incredible and service outstanding. Beer cheese sauce is a must for the fries as well. And if you are really hungry make sure to have an order of the Bavarian Pretzels for an appetizer.
