I don’t normally leave reviews, but after experiencing three separate issues at Romie’s Grocery, I feel compelled to share my experience.
First visit: My Sprite had brown particles floating in it. I called and was told someone would bring a replacement to my car — no one did. I had to go inside myself and leave the contaminated drink on the bar.
Second visit: I recommended Romie’s to my pregnant coworker, and it turned into a bad experience for both of us. My veggie plate was a complete mess and so sloppy that I couldn’t eat it. The cornbread was soggy. My coworker’s plate had no seasoning and tasted nothing like the food I had the day before.
Third visit (using the credit they gave me): I tried another veggie plate. The field peas were sour, and the cornbread was stale and sour. At this point, I’m almost afraid to even eat my beloved chocolate delight, which I love so much and pay close to $6 for.
Three visits. Contaminated drink. Wrong order. Bland food. Sour food. That’s a pattern — not a one-time mistake. Very disappointing.
I’m only giving the service a 3-star rating, because the lady behind the bar is super sweet.

Just moved into the area and was excited to try out lunch. The fried chicken was cold. Mashed potatoes were barley warm, coleslaw was fine. Deviled eggs were great. My husbands Meatloaf was all crumbled up on the plate. Disappointed. I would guess the staff cook all the food prior to the lunch shift, and servers just plate up the food and bring to the table.

Romie’s is the best!! I’ve had many birthday celebrations there, and I’ve had their catering so many times. The restaurant is great, very spacious, wonderful hosts and hostesses, waiters and waitresses, and a great outdoor seating area. I’ve never had a bad meal here, they’re consistent and some of the chefs have been there for over a decade. I’ve been to many events that were catered by Romie’s, and the food is always fresh and warm. Romie’s is perfect for a good home cooked meal, a night out for drinks, and listening to live music on weekends.

I loved this place. Went to see US Band. Had a great meal, had the lucky 13oz. Ribeye. Best steak I have had in a long time. We are from Indiana, had never been to Romie’s. My husband Dave called and told them we were coming from Indiana to see US Band.

Had lunch there on Thursday afternoon. The fried chicken was absolutely amazing. Fried perfectly juicy when you get into it. all of the side Vegetables are fresh and had a great flavor. I wish I lived closer so that I could go there on a regular basis. I highly recommend this place if you have the opportunity to stop in.

Home cooking at its best! Tender baked chicken, real onion rings, tangy Cole slaw, excellent black-eyed peas. Friendly and efficient service, and great value for the price. Spacious dining room, full bar, well done!

I really enjoyed my drinks, fried cheese and burger from Romie’s. I believe when we visited, they were a little under staffed. There was a big party there and we had to wait a little longer than I expected for the food. Everyone was real nice and we completely understand about the under staffing. I do suggest that if there is a band playing to ask to sit inside if you want to be able to talk to the other people at your table. We liked the band but it was really loud.

This place was known for it’s BBQ chicken nachos. Stopped in, the vibe is not the same, but I sat down hoping for a good evening.
Well, dreams don’t always come true. The nachos were horrible at 15 bucks.
I was going to order more, but after bites, I sent 85% of the product back.
I’m not going to go into the comment about, the vibe, Let’s just say, everybody is welcome, but everybody will not feel welcome.

I love eating at Romie’s. What I don’t love, however, is the live music vibrating the building I’m trying to sleep in until past midnight. Since the restaurant closes at 11, I falsely assumed the music would also end at 11, but it has continued to shake the entire building well past then and Tupelo PD doesn’t have an after-hours phone operator to report.

Pretty nice little restaurant. I had lunch there and had the bacon cheeseburger . It was hot and delicious. The waitress was attentive and did an excellent job providing service and drinks refilled. I would definitely visit again.
