Interesting location and parking at this place, somewhat challenging (at least for me) but we got in nonetheless and were greeted very nicely and shown a table straightaway. Nice little place, quite ambiance, and a menu that is literally the largest I have seen in quite some time.
For dinner, my wife had their personal pan pizza while I went with the spinach and artichoke calzone. The pizza was perfectly sized for her and the calzone was this massive beast – so delicious – and one of the better ones I have had to date.
For dessert, I had the most unique type of cream horn I have ever laid my eyes upon. This thing was a caramel cream horn filled with thie lightest of cheesecakes – it was superb. My wife had their cheesecake mousse that was light and thick all in one.
The only nit was the service. Though she was absolutely friendly, patient, and helpful, the service wasn’t has attentive as I prefer. Nonetheless, it was still and overall great experience and we will definitely be back when we are back in Western PA…
Just want to say thank you to Samantha the manager. She contacted me and made it right. Will try them again and leave a new review. I would now give a 5 star for service!
We placed a large order for take out. We got it home after being forced to pay a 12%gratuity cause it was more than 90$. Got it home only to find they forget to put in my steak salad. It ruined all of the other dinners we ordered as had to drive back up to get it from Homer. The rest of our food was cold. When my husband got back up there he told them that all our stuff was ruined cause it was so cold the guy offered a dessert…. Pretty shoddy. If you’re going to demand a gratuity of 12% on takeout you should deliver better service deserving of that gratuity.I am home bound and this was our treat for Valentine’s Day. Ruined our evening. Oh and we were first time customers. Won’t be back.
So good we came back another two times before we left. Abbie our server was extremely friendly each time.
Tonight I ordered their mussels too be delivered at work and they were delivered to my house instead. I assume because the delivery person recognized my name.
So they sat on the front porch stoop for half an hour until I got home (Romeo’s tried to redirect the delivery person, but I told them not to., since I would be home soon.
They were cold. So I put them in the oven at 375 for 20 minutes.
Now mind you, I’ve eaten at some of the best reataurants in Pennsylvania and two of the best restaurants in the world (I used to be wealthy.).
I’d put them up against them all. I’m not saying they’d win. They could have used more clam juice. But they were still moist. And they didn’t have the sandy texture so many have. They were just delicious.
