Went here after a hike. It is in a nice location, and the outdoor seating is shaded so that is nice. Ordered a cajun bleu burger, it was not good at all. The meat was dry, the burger had zero toppings, it was bland, honestly just one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had, I didn’t even finish half of it. Also ordered some of the fish, that was actually good, and also reasonably priced. Asked to upgrade my side of chips for the burger for mac and cheese bites but was charged the same price ($6) as ordering them, so that makes no sense. The service was good, the location is nice, the food however is okay.

My wife and I had lunch there on Oct 18th and were so impressed! The food was great and came out very hot and fresh from the kitchen. The servers were so nice and were working hard to get everyone drinks and food. We recommend stopping in on a nice day and eat outside.

9/29/25 1pm. 2021 Were there last Sunday in the AM and the food was great. We had fish and chicken strips, both good and not too pricey. Good fries as well. Service was good. The place is a little run down, but OK. We like the original military services theme. The thing we don’t like is the flies in there. I wish there were fly strips up, but people don’t like things like that. This time of the year food is cooked in the small hut near the street and for many years, the door has no automatic closer so it is open often. Not much room inside for seating, but most people eat outside anyway. Going back when time permits.

Friendly staff good food inside, outside eating during summer. Military raised son business. Offers discounts, veterans, etc. I’m not telling you what to do, but as a vet , I suggest we support. His business. Your choice.

Always love getting our fish and chips at Romayne’s when we go wine tasting and pass through Taylor Falls. My sister’s specifically requested we stop for lunch when they came to visit from out of town so I know they enjoyed it.
We all did the one piece fish that came with a ton of fries, no one finished their meal. This consists of a large Alaskan filet that is hand battered served over an enormous basket of crinkle cut fries. The picture shows this basket after all four of us had all eaten one of each item. Sorry
We also did the sampler platter as an appetizer that consisted of fried cheese curds, fried green beans, fried pickles and fried Mac and cheese. Plenty for 4 to share.
Only complaint was our waitress, if not for the other waitress we would not have gotten our food. As it was as we had to wait 15 minutes to get our bill which still had the added 3.5 percent credit card fee after we told her we were paying cash. Not going to keep us from going back but beware of this.

Sat down the other evening with my girlfriend. Sat for a good 15 minutes. Sign says “seat yourselves.” Nothing. Wait staff walking to and fro. Never came to check in or take an order. We left. Haven’t straight up left a restaurant in YEARS! But left this one. Great potential and atmosphere, but holy bacon and eggs, terrible service. Do not go here. I’d rather hunt my own hogs and cows, churn my own butter, and baked my own buns than eaten a hamburger here. So it goes.

I took a day trip to Taylor Falls and had lunch here. The food was fine but nothing great. The kids menu only three options; mac & cheese bite, mini corn dogs or chicken tenders. They all came with fries or you could substitute for chips. It would have been great if I could have substituted for an appetizer sauce pouch ir something like that. I may have enjoyed it more if I was there for the bar and not with my kids. They did have quite the selection of beers.

The food took over an hour to come out and I was disappointed with the food when it came. I got the bacon cheeseburger. The patty was cooked just enough to be safe and the bacon was not crispy. Not worth the wait!
