Jim “The Cheesesteak Guy” Pappas
Different Cheesesteak #1188. Special Wednesday drinks and cheesesteaks with Amigo Dan. Fine dining in Clifton Heights?? I didn’t realize Clifton Heights had such a diverse, and tasty, dining scene. Romarco’s would be my 1st date place. Christie runs a good bar. Nice friendly group of regulars, some family. We let Christie order our cheesesteak. Mushrooms, pepperoni and sharp provolone. Very good ingredients and nicely made. Great flavor. I think the pepperoni and sharp provolone needed something to balance their hardiness.

We were pleasantly surprised. After reading some other reviews, we were worried about the food and cleanliness, but it’s a DelCo institution that had to be tried. The food was good, the service was good, and the decor was just typically hokey. The only thing I’d really ding them on was that I got the clearly aged last beer in a keg of Troeggs Perpetual. But then they tapped a new keg and gave me the next beer on the house.

Romarcos has a romantic atmosphere. Dim lighting booths, and tables. Food is delicious.
There’s a classic bar if you want a cocktail adjacent the dining room
You can be seated on the sun porch if you prefer natural light.
The outdoor tiki bar with karaoke is closed for winter

The food was kinda basic and undercooked (I expected better judging by the ratings). Service was good and so was the atmosphere.

Food isn’t bad, this place just can’t handle a drag brunch. Took 20-30mins to get a drink every single time. We were told to order drinks at the bar then they said don’t go to the bar and a waitress will come up to your table. I saw my drink sitting at the bar for 10 mins and the waitress just kept walking by it. I eventually just walked up and grabbed it off of the bar myself. Our waitress was ALL over the place but that might’ve not been entirely her fault. She told us no one was communicating with her. There was only 2 waitresses and 1 bartender for a sold out drag brunch. Honestly don’t want to come back to this place for a drag show even though the show itself was fine.

I did not eat anything but found the crowd to be fun and welcoming.
Joe Staffieri and his multi-talented vocalist were tremendous

I’m really said to write this especially because I never leave reviews in the first place but I’ve heard so many good things about this place time and time again and I just don’t see what everyone else sees I got the raviolis and they’re just frozen raviolis nothing special to be completely honest I’m really disappointed in my experience I’ve been so excited to try their food and was extremely let down
