I felt the waitress was rushing me. She stood by the table while I was taking the last portion of the salad, and she took the plates twice literally while I was eating. The place looked nice, but it was extremely loud. Even though loud is the sad trend in NYC now, the noise level here was off the charts and for that reason alone I can’t recommend it, but adding the bad service, I really don’t want to be back.
It would be hard to pick a favorite thing from the menu, since it was all so good (and since their menu updates all the time), but my table couldn’t stop eating the Fava Bean Puree. All hail Chef Hannah and her team!
Not for nothing, it’s also really nice to support an establishment that’s committed to making the industry more sustainable for all who work in it.
Thank you so much for a wonderful special occasion dinner–I hope to return!
Only negative point is that the dessert menu was a bit one sided. But I guess that changes since the menu had the date on it too.
Between food/drinks (1-2 rounds) we spent $100/pp
Ordered the flank steak and scallop entrees, and olives as the starter. I cannot make this up, the scallop dish was one of the best dishes I’ve had in NYC. The sweetness of the scallop, matching with the salty-citrus broth it came with… WOW! Bring it back! Cabbage, mushrooms, and sweet potato was great too. Very, VERY happy about this dish.
Flank steak was also very good, the steak was cooked perfectly, and the chimichurri sauce was very good. It was accompanied by a flavorful & elevated rice and beans. Didn’t wow me, but you can taste the quality and flavor.
Drinks great, and the warmed olives are yummy.
2nd: We dined at Roman’s, and it was an experience worth sharing. The ambiance of the restaurant is both cozy and elegant, with its beautifully lit chandeliers and warm, inviting decor.
From the menu, I had the fava bean puree and linguine, which were both absolutely delicious. The fava bean puree had a wonderful texture and flavor, while the linguine with baccala, onions, and capers was perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. Additionally, we tried the striped bass, which was a delightful dish, cooked to perfection with a great balance of flavors.
What truly made the experience memorable was the staff. They were gracious, generous, and friendly, going out of their way to make us feel welcome. Their attentiveness was especially appreciated as we had our toddler with us, and they were wonderfully accommodating and kind.
Overall, Roman’s offers not only excellent food but also an atmosphere of genuine hospitality. It’s a place where you can enjoy a fantastic meal while feeling completely at ease.

*Burrata, tomatoes, nectarines, and basil (with complimentary bread) – the burrata was good, I liked the nectarines but the remaining accompaniments didn’t impress
