The service was so poor you would think that the D.C. Metro oversaw the operations of this establishment. Since there was not a kitchen fire during our meal, I guess you would have to say the staff here outperforms those who run the Metro but, not by much.

After dining here I fully understand why my family was one of the only people present in the restaurant. When we finally got our food, not only did we receive the word’s smallest portions, they also forgot to include the flavor. I now actually know what it is like to eat cardboard. I think my college cafeteria made better tasting pasta.

With so many other great food options in the area do yourself, and this place, a favor and simply dine somewhere else. Good God after this meal I would have to say that even the Chuck E Cheese next door provides better-tasting food.

Please don’t spend your money here, and allow the restaurant circle of life can happen. We need this place to be forced to close and something else open in its place.

I LOVE Romano’s Macaroni Grill! It has been a tradition in my family to come here on a regular basis and I’ve never had a bad experience! I was here the other night and had the delicious eggplant parmesan. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. There’s just something I’ve always loved about this particular macaroni grill. Great atmosphere, great everything. By far my favorite chain restaurant!

P.S. this is now a smoke-free establishment! Last year’s clean indoor air act is in effect and the clouds of smoke have cleared!

We went in on a Saturday night. It was obvious they were short of wait staff. Good to see the managers out helping. However, the hostesses (male) should not be standing up at the front talking to girls when customers are waiting. We had a small child with us so getting our ticket and out the door was of importance to us and it took a very long time to get our ticket. The food was only ok, the waiter was trying but spread to thin, and with him being spread to thin and being the only one able to get our ticket was a poor note. While we waited we had nothing to do but watch the hostesses laughing and joking with girls who obviously not there for the food.

Run. Find another place.
Today, Nov 13th we went there, ordered 2 of their lunch promos that are delivered in 7 mins or they are free. They arrived literally 30 mins later.
The waiter disappeared. Had to get the manager to find him. We were there forrrrrrrrrrrrrever with two young, bored kids.
My wife was literally waving her hands at an idle waiters for 2 mins straight. Waitresses were looking right through her and did not respond. Other guests were laughing trying to help us get a waitress or waiter. The waitresses purposely avoided us and other customers.
They did not honor the 7 mins or free promo.
Food was eh. Bread was good, fries were limp and cold.
Son had gnats in his water but since we had no waiter we had no one to tell about it.
There were only 2 other occupied tables in the entire place. It was lunchtime.
Terrible. I paid 50 bucks for this crap?
I’ll never go back.

Been here twice after long days of work. I just wanted a drink and a quick decent bite. Both times the place was near empty. The first time service was sloooooooow and lacking. I figured I’d give it another try in hopes that it would be better- nope! Worse! After receiving my nearly cold eggplant parm, I decided I was over it. The waiter took off with my debit card for 15 minutes! He was in the corner of the restaurant getting chewed out LOUDLY by the GM in front of the few people that were dining in the place (my debit card in tow). SUCH A WIERD EXPERIENCE! Not too interested in trying for a third strike.

This is probably the worst place you can choose to eat at in the area.

It’s the type of restaurant that only exists because of the sheer number of people that surround it and blindly enter places….like myself when I first went here.

Bar was an absolute disaster, nobody cleaned up anything after watching 6 different workers walk in and out of the area while me and my wife were surrounded by filth.

The bartender was literally serving people food and leaving their dishes right where they finished them. She must have done this the entire night as all empty seats had associated dirty dishes directly adjacent to them.

Place sucks, would suggest Trattoria Villagio in Clifton, 5000000x better.

I went to this restaurant on 5/23/2016 with two coworkers. I asked the waiter if they had a gluten-free menu, and he said he would get the manager. When the manager came to the table he asked how he could help us. I asked him if he had a gluten-free menu. He looked at me and shrugged and said in a snarky voice, “Well this is a pasta place, so…”

I’m not stupid and I don’t need to be talked down to. I know special diets are annoying and I get that, but he’s selling something there, and I’m a customer. What a downer. What do people think? That I do this for fun? For attention? I’m on a gluten-free diet because it was ordered by my neurologist and my gastroenterologist to stop thrice-weekly migraine headaches that were debilitating and did not respond to medication. It’s been forced on me and isn’t really a “choice.” Sure, I choose to follow the doctors’ orders but it’s not like a choice that’s fun. Since it works, and its reduced my migraines to one or two a month, I stick with the doctors’ orders.

So I didn’t need any grief from some sassy manager when I was there to pay good money for their food. His next question, still with a snarky voice, was, “Maybe you could tell me what you want to eat and I could tell you whether it can be prepared gluten-free. We do have gluten-free pasta.” (He chose to tell me about the gluten-free pasta after he acted like I’m a complete idiot for going to a pasta restaurant and expecting a gluten-free meal.)

I told him I didn’t want pasta, and that I wanted a salad. The irony is that I genuinely did want the salad and had no intention of ordering pasta, which is why I went along with it when my coworkers said they wanted to go to Romano’s Macaroni Grill.

Ultimately he was able to help me order my salad with grilled chicken instead of Parmesan-crusted chicken, and the salad was very good, but I’m giving this place one star for the bad behavior of the manager (of all people!).

If you are stuck eating a gluten-free diet, skip this joint and go to Sweetwater Tavern where they treat you with kindness and are glad to take your money in exchange for an excellent meal gluten-free or not.

I ordered takeout and after I arrived at the curbside pickup area I called to tell them I arrived. When the manager answered the phone she asked if I had called ahead? I laughed sarcastically and said yes that’s what takeout is. The Manager then LIED to me by saying she just wanted to make sure the order was all set. It turns out they never submitted the order and they scrambled to submit it after I had already arrived. A professional would have simply apologized for the error and maybe offer a discount although not required. This Manager decided to just Lie to the customer instead. After decades of dining there I never will again.

My husband and I are normally really good tippers because we’ve been servers before, we went there to try a new place he’d never been. It was a miserable experience. Our server Diana came by our table twice, once for drinks and second to drop the food off. we were one out of four tables there and still couldn’t get her attention to get a refill or pay our bill. My husband tried to waive her down and Dianas friend even told her we were waiving her down and she just rolled her eyes and walked to the back. We saw the whole thing, if you dont like your job, quit! Luckily we were able to Wave the food runner down and pay otherwise we were about to walk out. Do not go here unless you want bad food and bad service.

I did not have high expectations to start when i went to this place.
Wait time was ok on a Sat night and the Service was ok too.
Looking at the menu it felt like there isn’t anything that’d make me feel like ‘i want this dish’
So i ended up ordering fried calamari and salmon
The calamari was too greasy and i couldn’t have more than 3 bites.
The salmon was really undercooked and cold.
You can tell it was coming from the freezer; it had different shades of orange as it was like frozen raw fish.

The manager accepted to take the salmon off the check which was the least he could do after ruining my night.

The only good thing was the bread they serve.
