I always get the pesto when I come here and it’s ALWAYS amazing.
This last time we sat in the covered patio area and it was so nice! Usually we sit inside. The heaters made us very comfortable inside despite being a bit chilly outside.

For the guy that was complaining about the food and the atmosphere, I don’t know what he was talking about. This place is charming as hell. I ordered the shrimp scampi and I had eight shrimps and the flavor was the best I’ve ever had. Two of our party had sausage and meatball on spaghetti. The meatball was the size of a baseball!! My father in law is a meatball expert and and this was better than his!! ( Sorry Frank, but it was!). 2 others had fettuccini Alfredo and cleaned their plates! Awesome for, awesome atmosphere!!

Michael provided great service! The food was amazing!!! I posted my receipt so you see the dishes we ordered as well as the price. The portions were large. I recommend you share a dish unless you are super hungry. We both had leftovers. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Very classic Italian restaurant, dark and a little moody, a little run down, bordering on nostalgic. Good casual date night location. The outdoor patio has a good amount of heaters and was comfortable on a spring evening.
This is the first Italian restaurant other than Nardo we’ve returned to in the area.
Their Alfredo sauce is literal perfection.
The espresso martini was quite good
Shrimp scampi pasta was a little disappointing compared to the Alfredo.
The Calamari appetizer was solid but overly seasoned and over battered.
Spaghetti and meatballs were ok.
The cheesecake seemed to be canoli inspired and was pretty good.

Romano Cucina Sunset Beach is the best Italian food I’ve had in the Huntington Beach, Seal Beach and Sunset Beach area. I love Italian food and I have tried most of the restaurants in the area. Most of the other Italian restaurants are twice the price at 1/2 the quality. This is authentic Italian food at incredibly reasonable prices, highly recommend. Make reservations in season and all weekends, they get very busy.

When we’re out on vacation we want to experience the local cuisine, and breadth of experience matters. So when I say we visited Romano Cucina twice on our five day trip to Orange County that should tell you exactly how great the experience was. My wife loved the Rosa sauce with the penne; my favorite was the spicy sausage with the spicy red sauce and spaghetti.
If you’re anywhere near Sunset Beach you will not be disappointed if you make Romano one of your stops.

The original Romano Cucina sold off years ago to locals that have done a tremendous job keeping everything intact. The original owners moved to Dallas where they have a restaurant in my humble opinion this restaurant the atmosphere the food is identical to the one in Dallas.
