I was really disappointed with my experience at Roll Roll, this place was on my “must-try” list for two years and it left the worst first impression.

Everything I ordered tasted a day old. The nori on every roll was leathery and extremely difficult to chew, and the rice was dry. The purple potato was very dry, and the salmon did not taste fresh at all. I ordered two Golden Tiger Rolls, a Spicy Salmon Roll, a California Roll, a Yamyam Roll, a Spicy Crab Roll, and a Yam & Avocado Roll (total was $69 after my $20 UberEats discount). After trying a few pieces, my friend and I threw the rest away because we were genuinely concerned about the freshness and didn’t want to get sick.

I called the restaurant to ask when the sushi was prepared and whether it might have been made in advance. They told me everything was made fresh to order. They were apologetic and offered a $30 credit if I call in to place another order, which I appreciated, but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be coming back. If a restaurant charges premium prices (e.g., $17.95 for 8 pieces in the golden tiger roll), I expect premium quality every time.

Have always loved their sushi, they are the perfect size and taste so good. Usually have gotten their party platter which they choose the array of sushi that goes on it. There isn’t really a place to sit and eat in the store so pickup is usually the way to go. The pictures show the small party platter and was shared between 2 people, but you can get a larger one based on how many people there are.

A wonderful Discovery! Just discovered this sweet sushi restaurant on a Tuesday morning. Found out that they have won the best sushi award for 2 years in a row, so I had to try some! I ordered the yam and avocado sushi. Great price and delicious!

Hands down the best sushi spot in Ontario. The quality is unmatched, every roll is fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious. What truly sets them apart is how they treat their guests. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed like family. The service is thoughtful, attentive, and consistently excellent. I always leave happy, full, and already planning my next visit.

After just coming back from a trip to Japan where I spent weeks eating sushi; from the IYKYK of Tokyo where I sat amongst the locals as one of the only “gajin’s” to grace the restaurant to the lively restaurants of Osaka, my expectations shifted. Where once I ordered entire trays to binge on spicy salmon rolls, my palate has matured toward purity.

Admittedly, I live in Toronto with an abundance of choice, and have had sushi more time’s I can count since being home, but nothing has quite matched the satisfaction of what I’ve had in Japan. So when my brother in law brought home the Party Tray from Roll Roll Sushi in London’s Wortley Village, I braced myself for the familiar disappointment of North American interpretations. What arrived didn’t just surprise me…it excited me.

This is far from the basic sushi you get at the average takeout spot.

Heres the difference. The rice here isn’t an afterthought. It’s cooked perfectly. Seasoned with precision and served at the ideal temperature, the kind of rice that Japanese sushi chefs spend years perfecting, and unless you’ve been to Japan it’s difficult to quite understand the level of care, appreciation and love that they put into the rice and how the rice is often the difference maker vs the fish. That alone would distinguish an outstanding sushi restaurant from a mediocre one. But here, the fish also stands up to global standards: clean, vibrant, cut with a deft hand that lets each slice shine. This is sushi that could sit alongside offerings in Tokyo or Osaka without embarrassment.

The chef at Roll Roll has clearly spent years honing technique, respecting simplicity over flashiness. Of course there’s still the requirement of satisfying the North American palette as evident of some items on the menu but there’s still balance, intention, and freshness.

The big takeaway here is that sadly Roll Roll is so far from home. If Roll Roll opened a sister restaurant in Toronto, it wouldn’t just add to the city’s crowded sushi scene but would redefine expectations there too. Because what this sushi shop embodies isn’t just fresh fish on rice, but a philosophy: simplicity respected, ingredients honored, and technique perfected.

I should have posted a review a LONG time ago as this has been my favorite sushi place ever since the first time I ate here. It’s so incredibly fresh and delicious! And the salmon sashimi!!! It’s always SO GOOD!!! Presentation is beautiful, like a work of art. I’ve ordered several of the party trays for different occasions and never been disappointed. Lovely people too, such a friendly atmosphere:) I hope this restaurant stays in Wortley Village for a long time! If you haven’t tried it, you must!!!

*Edit to add photos. We ordered Roll Roll this past weekend for my daughters birthday. It was incredible as always:)

My friend found this place on Google while on a Costco run in London. What a pleasant surprise! Sushi was amazing – tasty and fresh! They have a couple seats to sit and eat… Wish they had more dine-in seating. Nevertheless, I would definitely return!

This is hands down the best sushi place in London – it has been our go to ever since they opened up! Their sushi is always fresh, tastes amazing and is beautiful to look at – basically like a work of art! The owners and the staff are also very friendly and sweet. They always remember their customers and we honestly cannot recommend them enough. You will not regret trying them if you haven’t already!
