DO NOT COME TO THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU WANT A TRUE THAI EXPERIENCE. On a positive note, David and a couple of other staff are hard workers and they deserve a better restaurant to work for. Sadly, we have just had worst experience in khoa lak. We ordered many dishes, plus two of the special seafood grills. Only one arrived, the other arrived after the table had finished eating, the squid was inedible, the mussels were cold so only half of the dish was any good, on both orders. We did not want to pay for the food we could not eat, and so we were threatened by the staff that they were going to call the police. The front of house staff clearly do not work with the kitchen staff, as no one took any responsibility of the bad food. This place is made for the masses and do not care about the customer.

I had two cocktails and the crab meat in yellow curry and it was really tasty and delicious. The prices are little bit higher than your typical Thai kitchen but the quality makes definitely up for the slight price difference. Also the restaurant has a nice Ambiente and the service is very good and looks after the guests without being intrusive. All in all a recommendation to eat seafood in Khao Lak. Also the coconut ice cream was tasty.

We visited Roilay Khaolak one evening and really enjoyed the friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. The service was great, and everyone was attentive and welcoming.
The food was a bit too spicy for our taste, even though we asked for “not spicy.” To their credit, they immediately adjusted the dish with extra coconut milk, which made it much better. We really appreciated their willingness to fix it without hesitation.
Overall, a nice restaurant with good service, a friendly team, and a warm atmosphere

Having visited Bang Niang Market we stopped to eat at Roilay Khaolak Restaurant as it was the only late night restaurant we found after 9pm. The place was very modern and the staff were friendly. They have a varied selection of seafood and southern Thai menu. We ordered a Tom Kha coconut soup with prawns (which is a favourite of mine and I always order at every restaurant we visit to compare), a squid ink soup, fried rice and honey roasted pork spare ribs with rice. The soups were disappointing, the coconut soup lacked the bits of galangal, chillies, lemon grass and lime leaves but instead was full of green leaves i didn’t recognise and the base flavour was bland and lacking richness & I’ve had at least 6 other restaurants soups to compare previously and they were all the same great delicious flavours, the squid ink soup also lacked some richness. The food was fresh and served together but the soups lacked intense flavours .

Located on the corner of the busy street, picked this place out of the google line up after the search for “good local seafood”. The service is great and the food is good. Trusted their recommendation for the stir fried cabbage in fish sauce and happy to report it is as good as they claim. The crab meat in cylapahne noodle is ok but the experience is dampened as the frozen-crab meat is highly noticeable. With its location, surprisingly was not charged an arm and a leg for it.

Lobster is a must try! Other seafood restaurants charge TB1200 for same size lobster, so we drove 15mins here just for the lobster! We are surprised by other dishes as well, crispy pork, fried vege, mango sticky rice, love them all. They have big screen for some after meal drink time. Live music added some dance vibes. If you travel around, worth a try even for the lobster.

Excellent food with fresh ingredients and variety of seafood to choose from. The place is comfortable , clean and service is great.
The seafood platter is simply value fr money … THB 1,890 fr a lobster, 2 river prawns , giant squid and sea bass! No where else can you find such good deal.
Quality of the food is also excellent, all round a 5-star recommendation

Had the sea bass and fried squid was great we had a liter of draft beer and was terrible but they allowed us to change to bottled beer with no issues. We do think best seafood place in Khao Lak and atmosphere is great local singer and open space.

Fantastic meal at a great restaurant. Food excellent, service excellent, waitress excellent, kind and attentive. House band really really good and price fair and reasonable. Trust me, definitely worth a visit
