-“Sauteed mushrooms” in the roast beef sandwich are in fact canned mushrooms
-Nasty holey meat
If you are European, avoid it. You will be very disappointed.
Not sure who’s expectations this “European Cafe” meets and no clue why people frequent it.
The cafe mocha is actually better at Dunkin.
I’m extremely baffled.
It was my first time in and I liked the ambiance. 3 stars for the ambiance, BTW.
I figure out what I wanted and went to the cashier to place my order. That cashier (young male wearing a black shirt and a cross necklace) was unexpectedly sullen, aka surly, aka rude. He flicked his eyes over me when I said good morning and made no reply.
I ordered and he rang up the order and walked away. Said nothing to me. I stood there just waiting for my card to finish processing until a young woman came around and completed the sale on their end. I was actually worried something had gone wrong with my card and was taking out cash. But, it was just him walking away.
Never came back.
I sat down and watched him use regular dairy to make my coffee. I specifically asked for oatmilk as I’m intolerant to lactose. I verified it was oatmilk and he mumbled his claim that was and walked away.
At this point, I’m feeling most uncomfortable. He then comes with my sandwich, and kind of just pushes it towards me on the table and walk away. (I’m cutting the story short.)
At that point, I asked the helpful young woman if I could speak to the manager. Melanie (I think her name was) came out and I explained and she was most apologetic.
She even offered that I take the meal but nothing could induce me at that point to eat or drink anything there. She cancelled my charges and I left.
The young man at the register needs to do better. He gave your café a most negative identity. I would have loved to have eaten that beautiful breakfast sandwich and order pastries to go. Who knows how many others he has been this disdainful to? He should not be the image of your café.
I’m a big believer in supporting the local small business owner. It takes a lot of guts to start and run a business, so show them some love!
