11 out of 10.
Every dish was a perfectly balanced, a unique blend of flavors that brings out traditional french gastronomy.
We were celebrating my birthday and we started with French onion soup (superb) plus 6 escargots, which we’re excellent. For dinner, my wife had tuna with vegetables, both cooked perfectly, and I had a frog burger, which was excellent. For dessert, caramel rice pudding with hazelnuts.
The service is excellent and the food quality is unsurpassed. You won’t be disappointed.
Stumbled upon this place without a reservation and was pleasantly surprised to be seated right away, even during a busy hour. The staff was friendly, and they provided an English menu which made ordering easy.
I tried the fried frog legs and the beef tartare—both were absolutely excellent.
The atmosphere was lively, with a fun pop-rock soundtrack from the 70s and 80s playing in the background, which added to the charm.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy traditional French cuisine in a welcoming setting !
Now the food… unfortunately quite unimpressed.
Deep fried frog legs, juicy but losing their delicate flavour… I don’t personally approve.
Wild mushrooms (pied-de-mouton) with butter and garlic were tasty, still firm. Getting the best out of them? Not sure.
Wine (beaujolais village) was served at good temperature but very rustic, which for 50€ hursts: the markup is insulting. Drinkable with food, got a bit better with time.
Finally the andouillette was alright, meaty, accompanied with nicely caremalised onions. The andouillette itself was not crispy and I was missing a proper side.
Overall, as I was introducing guests to traditional French cuisine I was disappointed.
