But wait, let’s not forget the catfish! I drove from Allen to try their catfish and it did not disappoint!
Service was excellent! I was greeted by Tiffanie who also makes all of the desserts. From the catfish, to the wings, and the desserts you’ll love ever bite!
I have to be honest, I am usually focused on the food, but there are times when you simply have to look at other factors that go into the particular dining/ take out experience. The customer service needs improvement. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how good the food is, if you don’t get treated kindly/fairly in order to get the food, it can be a deal breaker. The young lady behind the register was talking to someone sitting at one of the tables. She clearly wasn’t eating but having a conversation via speakerphone, making it a three way. I am a new customer and trying to ask questions and I pretty much had to compete with the threesome. Mind you, I am taking pictures and asking questions about food items and I said specifically said to the cashier, that I was doing a review on the establishment…maybe my work ethic only, but I definitely would have been on point. She could have cared less.
An maybe this added to me being vexxed, but the lady that ordered right before me, asked about an extra sauce. She wanted another, and asked if there was a charge and the lady said, “No.” She even went further to say, “You want some peppers?” I am not sure why her money was no good there but mine was. I went outside to get in my car to take a picture and noticed there was only 1 half full tartar sauce contained for 4 pieces of fish…..my head turned sideways. So, I walked back in and said, “Can I get another sauce, there is only one and I ordered a 4 piece?” Understanding it is a business to make money, I had $1.50 in my hand. The cashier held out her hand to take the money and I am like, “How much is it?” I’m like in my head, you gave that other lady sauce for free and you even offer her pickles but you don’t even tell me how much each container is before putting your hand out? She says, $1 something…” I gave her a $1.25, she handed me 2 containers and I left.
All I am saying is, if you have paying customers asking legitimate questions about the business, they come first before personal interaction. One tartar really isn’t enough for 4 pieces of fish in my opinion and it does make a person feel some kind of way when they witness other customers getting additional sauces and peppers for free. I have tried other establishments who do add two sauces and pickles and peppers are included without having to ask.
We don’t visit this part of town often. We decided to try some local small business and fry food and dessert.
If you can look beyond the cleanliness and untidy display, this location serves some great food. We were the first customers on a Saturday morning. The restaurant was not ready to serve us. However, as soon as the oven and fryer was turned on, the paces was up.
The pineapple and strawberry cake were flavorful and good portion. The fish filets were very tasty and the fries were hot. Since the food was freshly prepared, I was very impressed with the offerings even though the wait was long.
Great job serving great tasty food. Hopefully, the store has enough sales to employ additional help to tidy up the dinning room and remove the clutter.
Have high expectations to execute the order thus win the heart of the customers.
Fish was good though seasoned. Sauce taste good. Fries taste ok.
Would try them again just not delivery.
