What can I say. Whatever the name may be, wherever it is, whatever the cost, it’s still Don Jose food that I grew up on and loved in Artesia for over 40 years. This location is not the traditional Don Jose/Ricardo’s layout with a truly California Mexican restaurant feel but it’s very nice and comfortable. The food tastes the exact same. The staff was great and I will be back until either it or myself no longer exists.

Friendly service, decent food. Salsa has huge chunks of tomatoes, good flavor but hard to scoop with chips without getting a monstrous piece of tomato.

Ordered an all beef burrito. Got an all bean burrito. No apology from staff. Also ordered fish tacos to go, got home, and they are chicken enchilada and beef tamale. First and last experience here.

Came here for lunch was visiting a friend. Thought this would be a perfect place to be for lunch. Wasn’t greeted, Found my friend who was sitting close by. Got our drinks quickly nice and chip n salsa. The salsa that we received was very tomatoe. More like a canned salsa like Ro*Tel. We ordered our meal. I got the enchilada cheese and taco. What’s the shredded beef that had rice and beans. My rice was undercook. It was very crunchy. You couldn’t even taste the favor of spaish rice. Its because it was dried out and then the enchilada. You couldn’t really taste the spices of the enchilada sauce.
And my beef for my taco was very dried out. My overall impression.
I was disappointed in this restaurant?’cause I was here not that long ago, and I loved the meal. Not only was my meal kinda rough my friend’s meal too. It was just as bad. Her rice was as bad as mine. I don’t know if it was under the heat lamp so long that it dried out. Her chicken was dried out.
Same thing with the enchilada sauce.
Just wasn’t very happy today.

It’s another Thursday so I ate Vegetarian today, as usual. I was in Murrieta for business so I searched Google Maps for a Mexican Food restaurant. I picked this one because I have eaten at Rodrigo’s in Corona several times and enjoyed it. (See my Review of that branch.)

This is a newer building in a larger shopping center. The interior decor is nicely appointed. It is separated into a large bar, with plenty of seating, and a separate dining area, with booths and tables. At Four O’Clock in the afternoon, it was sparsely populated.

The Men’s Room was exceptional with all surfaces sparkling clean and excellent architecture for privacy — although there is only one urinal.

Now to the food. In a word, it was bland. Nothing had any spiciness: From the salsa to the salad dressing to the cheese to the beans. To be clear, I am not a fan of hot spiced food, no matter the culture — So, for me to find something mild, it must be really blah.

I started with chips and salsa (no additional charge). The chips were crispy but not warm. The salsa was served in a miniature molcajete and was chunky but quite bland. Next up, a Dinner Salad ($8). While the lettuce was cold and crispy, the Bleu Cheese dressing was very plain — so much so that I wonder if there was any real bleu cheese in it!

I chose the two-item combo with cheese enchiladas, rice, and beans ($11.99). Where do I begin? Everything was very plain tasting. The cheese was close to Velveeta quality, the mole-style sauce was almost tasteless. The rice was under-cooked. The De La Olla Beans were like something out of a can. I cannot over-emphasize how everything tasted so mild and uninteresting.

The service was not stellar, either. While everyone was nice, they were also slow. I spent about four minutes at the front desk before a hostess came to seat me. The chips, salsa, and water came pretty quickly but it took many minutes for the waiter to greet me and take my order. After I was served, no one came by to check on me until I had nearly finished my meal. (I could have used a teaspoon to eat the beans but no one showed up to ask me.)

Bottom Line: I cannot recommend this branch of Rodrigo’s because the food was bland and the service was sub-par.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Got a carne asada burrito and a side of rice Both were pretty good Was expecting the burrito to be wet. ( guess I should have asked ) Dry but good nice tender pieces of steak good guacamole. And the service was really good. Never had to ask for a refill Drink stayed full. It was a little pricey. $17bucks. For the burrito. ( over priced ). But a good time overall

I’ve been coming to this place for over 40 years, and it’s absolutely one of my top 5 Mexican restaurants to visit. Everything is fresh and delicious, it’s got a great Atmosphere for couples.
Come and see for yourself!

No flavor!!!!!!! Worst “ Mexican food “ ever. I was better off taking my family to Alberto’s Mexican Food. It’s well overpriced for the taste of the food . It’s giving lower than golden corral food / shelter food.

STRONGLY RECOMMEND. Hidden Local Gem. Los Angeles native food lover moved to Temecula Winchester and finally found my local spot. Amazing food and service. All the food is spectacular. The menu is absolutely huge. Everyone will find something they crave. Chile verde (pork) and shredded beef are to die for. Bar top and bar area with happy hour menu available. Main dining room also available. Friendly staff. Jesus and Julian are good dudes and will take good care of you at the bar. Multiple Televisions. You’re welcome…just save some chile verde for me.

Took forever for anyone to acknowledge me at my table. Tortilla Chips were the cheap kind and stale.
Salsa was watered down and tasteless. Margarita was weak. Stuffed chile relleno was okay but not much in flavor. I really don’t recommend this place. Staff was pleasant but not super welcoming
