I enjoyed it. Elegant atmosphere. The hostess had a pleasant, sweet personality.
My food was excellent. Curry chicken, Rice and beans, Collard Greens, Mac and Cheese very tasty and delicious. Portion sizes were appropriate. Got my money’s worth. Will go again!!!!

Easy review. If you want some DELICIOUS jerl chicken, go eat at Rodney’s Jamaican Soulfood. I’ve eaten here numerous times and I always get the perks chicken because it’s always good. The coco bread is always hot and warm as well. The cabbage is delicious and the Mac and cheese is good, but it’s not oven baked like we make at Thanksgiving so keep that in mind. I liked the collard greens but my lady didn’t so that’s subjective. They don’t serve sweet tea which would be my only negative. Check them out.

My husband and I were referred to Rodney’s Jamaican Soul Food based on the recommendation of my son, for a Birthday Dinner. We were pleasantly greeted & seated by the owner, Rodney! Upon entering the restaurant, the eating area was clean & tidy. The lighting was wonderfully elegant with the tables covered in white linen & fine glassware. The entrees, Curry Chicken, Jerk Shrimp & Brown Stew Chicken were very flavorable & cooked to perfection. The side dishes: Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls, Sauteed Spinach, Collard Greens, Sweet Potato Souffle & Rice w/Beans were also very tasty. To our surprise, a Birthday dessert was provided. Kudos to the waiter/waitress! Thank you &
we will definitely return!

I’m so disappointed with this establishment. We ordered take-out and will never return. The ambiance was inviting. The organization was pretty clean. My partner and I both ordered jerk chicken with beans and rice. I ordered white meat. The wait time wasn’t bad, but the food was a total miss. They gave me what looked like thin prepackaged chicken filets. It tasted like grilled chicken. I asked for my jerk sauce on the side. Instead of giving me what I requested, I got two containers of oxtail sauce. The greens tasted like canned greens with a few onions. The rice and beans dish was mainly rice. The young lady at the bar was nice though. We won’t be returning.

Rodney’s Jamaican Soulfood: A Hidden Gem!

This was my first time dining at Rodney’s Jamaican Soulfood, and let me just say…scrumdelicious doesn’t even begin to describe it!

I had the oxtail stew with collard greens and peas & rice. Every bite was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. My partner ordered the curry chicken with plantains and cabbage, and I couldn’t resist stealing a few bites. Absolutely delicious all around.

What surprised me the most was the ambiance: clean, stylish, and cozy, with sultry contemporary gospel music playing softly in the background. It made the whole dining experience feel calm and soulful.

I was delightfully surprised and will definitely be back. If you’re craving authentic Jamaican flavors with a warm and inviting atmosphere, Rodney’s is a must-visit!

I give a 2 star rating simply because the ambience. White linen tablecloth gives the impression of fine dining. The problem is the food does not measure up at all! I have tried this place twice thinking that the first time was just a bad day; maybe a backup cook in training etc. But after going here last week, I realized that the food is very bland, no seasoning at all. I had the oxtails with rice and peas both times. It’s official! They simply don’t season their food! I moved to this side of town and was looking for a Jamaican restaurant 2 years ago. I have concluded that I will have to drive a few extra miles to my old spot “Irie Mon” on Peachtree Rd; authentic, great tasting Jamaican food at its best! They don’t have white linen tablecloths, and very limited seating, but the food is 5 stars on steroids!!!

Rodney’s Jamaican Soul Food is a solid spot if you’re looking for a place with good vibes, especially when they have a DJ playing. The food is okay—I’ve definitely had better—but the energy picks up once the drinks start flowing. Just make sure to drink responsibly!

There’s plenty of free parking, which makes things super convenient. We’ve used this place as a pregame spot a few times before walking over to The Battery. It’s a fun atmosphere when you’re with a group and looking to kick off your night.

Be safe and enjoy!

Prices slightly too high for the quality of the food and portion. Service is good. I had the Bob Marley drink that was really good. The waiter was also the bartender so he was responsible for the bar, take out, and tables. All of this with the most welcoming attitude you could think of. He made rounds to all his tables to make sure we were okay. Superman dat.
