Went here like a couple months ago and I completely forgot to review it that night, but for a reason. The reviewers weren’t kidding with the food, everything else was nice though. Service was fine, I don’t usually have problems with the service at this establishment. I went to get a brisket with fries, unfortunately though, it was disappointing. I’ve never had such disappointment with their briskets, it was usually well-cooked but this time it was dry, like REAL dry. In addition, I have read the reviews carefully and seen one that had the owner’s response. As I read on, the owner tried getting off-topic and shared their experience at another restaurant which was totally unrelated at all, which I can argue was highly unprofessional and had to add this in their. I don’t like giving places a 1 star at all unless it’s so bad that I must, so a 2 star to not sound too mean. Anyways, this was my experience so I’m sure that a handful of people would like the food here. In conclusion, good service and quality of the restaurant, but not the food sadly.

Stopped by for dinner and had a lovely experience! The pork potato was so yummy- had the pulled chicken and put some ranch on top. Delicious! My husband tried the banana pudding for dessert- one of his favorite sweets- and he loved it! Rated it as a 9/10! Will definitely go back

I want to start off by saying the servers here are amazing and deserve all the praise they can get. I have been going to Rodney’s off and on for about 15 years, and in the past we’ve always enjoyed their breakfast.
After today, it will be a long time before I ever go back—if I ever do.
I understand that when we arrived, the cook had not shown up, which resulted in almost an hour wait for our food. That would have been understandable if the food had been good. Instead, we were served cold potatoes, cold eggs, cold grits, and a rubbery pancake.
I complained about my potatoes, and they said they would cook me more. When they came back out, they were burnt. That is a very petty and unprofessional thing to do—if someone complains their food is cold, you don’t fix it by burning it.
This is an unacceptable way to treat customers and a horrible way to run a business. There are plenty of other places in Paulding County that treat their customers with respect and serve edible food.

This establishment has the worst bbq I’ve ever had. Overcooked, definitely not presentable absolutely no taste. Ordered sauce on the side and as you can see the sauce is in the meat, and the taste is horrible. The greens were salty and inedible. The pulled pork was extremely dry and tasteless. The cole slaw was spoiled. We ended throwing all of the food in the garbage and ordered from another establishment. My advice stay away from this restaurant.

A nice mom and pop type place. Staff was friendly. Had a home feel to it and you could tell several were regulars when we were there. Clean and spacious.
The food however was lacking in all areas. Our group ordered a hamburger with fries, barbecue pork sandwich and fries, fried pickles and fried mushrooms. To begin with the pickles had a good flavor however they were slightly overcooked. They were the best part of our meal. I took one bite of the fried mushrooms and spit them out! They tasted like they had not been properly washed or prepared. When I mentioned that to the waitress she just shrugged her shoulders and said “to be honest they probably weren’t cleaned properly”… The french fries were all cooked so well done I literally could not even bite into them they were so hard. The hamburger was overcooked, I had ordered it medium and it came out closer to well done. Perhaps the cook was just having an off day when they were over cooking everything but for a first time experience this was not a good one.

I had the brisket and it was pretty good. Mybwife god the ribeye pork chop and loved it.Seemed like the brisket had some sauce on it which I would not have preferred but good nonetheless.
The fried cabbage and okra were great as well.
We even tried rhe Buffalo okra which is a great idea!
Great meal great service!
We’ll be back.

This was my first time eating at Rodney’s, but I will try them again. The food was a mixed-bag, but McKinsey was one of the best servers I have ever had the priviledge to meet. The Q was good, the fries not so good. The fried pickles were great, but the fried mushrooms were not good at all. The mushroom burger was good. If you expect to drink Southern Sweet Tea, this is not the place. It almost tasted like Yankee tea with no sugar. I had to add Splenda just to be able to drink it. The BBQ sauce was OK, but I have had better.

I’m updating my review here. I’ve been twice in the last 2 weeks, and each visit has been wonderful. Fried mushrooms were salty but delicious. Perfectly cooked, huge portion, and sliced instead of whole. Now, let’s talk BBQ. The ribs were still great. The sweet BBQ sauce is a delight. That’s how I got my ribs(request sweet). Tender, smokey, and sweet!

There is some disappointment to discuss. The burger size didn’t look like 8 oz of meat. The taste was ok, nothing special. I did get a hint of stale flat top skillet taste on the meat. I requested medium, and they did try but missed the mark.

There are other notable mentions like the Brunswick stew Fried Green Tomatoes baked beans macaroni and a banana pudding. These items are all delicious with the hometown taste.

They do sell Cakes as well. I’ve never tried them, but they do look delicious.

My family decided to try Rodney’s this past weekend for the first time. They have dill pickle spears, which my husband loves and can rarely find, so that is what really influenced us to try this place out. We are so glad that we did! Food, server, and atmosphere were 5/5! Not only were the fried pickles wonderful, all of our dishes were as well. They had all you can eat catfish the day we dined. It was served hot and crispy with lots of flavor. The fries were hot and fresh as well. I had country fried steak with gravy. It was tender and the gravy made it very wholesome and paired great with mashed potatoes. My children had tenders and Mac and cheese, and they said it was “their favorite Mac and cheese”. Everyone except me drank sweet tea, and they said it was a good balance of sweet. Just on the food alone we would return, but the server was also amazing. We did not get her name, but she was patient with us, talked sweetly to my children, and she got our food out to us quickly and kept our glasses filled. At the end of the meal she brought my children stickers and it really made them feel special. We will definitely return soon!

Ordered the AYCE catfish tonight, was told there may be an uncharge for changing the sides. Told them that was fine but once the bill came the “upcharge” was just being charged the full price for ordering the sides a la carte, while also paying for the full AYCE price that comes with 2 sides. Was offered no solution by the waitress but was told to just not order it that way next time. Would be nice to know prior to ordering that there is actually no substitutions.
