We recently tried Rodi Italian in Loveland. We started with the Drunken Goat, which was very nice and flavorful. For mains, we had the Cacio e Pepe, which leaned a bit heavy on the salt, and the Spaghetti al Pomodoro, which was just okay. Overall, the food was decent—though it may be that we didn’t pick the best dishes from their menu !?

What really stood out was the service and ambience. The staff was welcoming, and the atmosphere made for a pleasant dining experience. Because of this, we’re definitely open to giving Rodi another try and exploring more of their menu.

I came here for a birthday dinner; my friend is a regular here, and he gave the recommendation. The place has a solid menu, with several things I’d want to order. For starters, the brussels sprouts and focaccia were both excellent and far exceeded my expectations; I’d highly recommend both. They came in good/shareable portions, too. For entree, the chicken milanese was a good 8 out of 10 dish for me. The fish of the day and short rib pasta dishes were both “very good” per my guests, and they also praised their glasses of wine and the beet salad (which I did not try myself). The place has a casual but classy vibe inside, and a large patio. Service was okay — we had to flag down our server several times, despite it not being very busy that evening. Nonetheless, it’s a lovable spot and I’ll be back for sure.

UPDATE: So I was DEFINITELY cross contaminated. I recently got “dosed” with some Gluten for the second time in 1.5 years (only 2 chips) and I was sick for 3 days. After Rodi Italian, I was sick for 1 1/2 weeks.

Absolutely not worth the experience!!
AVOID AT ALL COST if you have a gluten allergy. I ordered the GF Carbonara (I’m Gluten-free), and my girlfriend ordered the GF Shortribs (to share with me (she’s not GF). I’m not sure if one of us got the wrong plate or if it was a cross-contamination issue (like using the same water as regular pasta). Either way, I GOT GLUTEN’D! ($100+ down the drain) I spent the evening/next day purging the contamination.

As for the rest of the experience, top-notch. The food was delicious, and the creme brulee was perfect. The chocolate tort was average but had a great chocolate flavor. We went for my girlfriend’s birthday, and they gave her a dessert sampler, VERY NICE. She loved it!! We went on a Friday evening and it was VERY loud inside, not the best environment for a date (if you’d like to talk to each other). Our waiter “Norm” was (otherwise) outstanding.

If you DO NOT have a gluten sensitivity, I would highly recommend giving it a try (Just sit outdoors).

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and authenticity of the Italian food at Rodi. With beautiful weather we decided to sit outside; picturesque, quiet river side dining. Our appetizers were a well made (read: not just frozen rings) calamari and fresh caeser salad. Rodi’s wine menu was extensive and we were there for their Tuesday half priced bottles night. Our mains of Cacio de Pepe and Spaghetti Vongole featured all home made pasta and only the freshest variety of delicious seafood. Caution- they have delicious tiramisu but the portion is large enough for multiple people! Service was attentive and added a bit of fun to our evening. Can’t wait to go back and sorry we waited so long to go the first time!

Our new #1 Italian restaurant for us to hit close by. And as someone with celiac, I very much appreciate the options! The vast majority of the menu was open to gluten-free alternatives, with the exception of two pasta meals.
I picked the spaghetti with gluten-free noodles as a baseline, and it exceeded my expectations.
My wife chose the lasagna and states it has overthrown the lasagna from Maggianos for her.
Definitely make a stop here when you can. Our server was excellent and informative, the drinks were great, and the setting looks like it would be excellent for groups and night time dates as well!

The experience started with our dinner party of 4 enjoying some cocktails at the bar until our table was ready. Once at our reserved table we were eventually greeted by our server who seemed a bit flustered and rushed to say the least. After some confusion with ordering we finally got our dinner drinks and food and all was well in the world. Everyone else’s dishes were good overall though my “Brazed Ribs” didn’t meet my expectations, which may be from being a favorite of mine at another restaurant and having some bias. The atmosphere was fantastic and we were lucky to have such wonderful weather adding positive notes. The pricing was as expected since everything is made to order which was great for my wife’s Gluten Allergy concerns allowing her to substitute some ingredients in her dish for others. She definitely appreciated the extra precautions given to her allergy and came out of the experience with no negative reactions.

Phenomenal food and service. You have to start with the Drunken Goat. Get extra bread, you’ll need it to sop up all the goodness. The lasagna is the BEST lasagna in Cincinnati. Also of note, the short rib, the gnocchi, and the bucatini carbonara are amazing. You really cannot go wrong here. I wish they’d bring back the truffle pasta. All around an amazing spot. If you are looking for quality Italian- this is a great spot. Love to get there for their half price bottles of wine on Tues/Weds. will be going back very soon.

Moved here from New York City, and been looking for a good traditional Italian restaurant, a friend of mine recommended Rodi. I loved it at first bite, the food was so yummy , nice atmosphere and so friendly staff. Will come back for sure to try the other dishes ❤️. Roland is our server, he is so friendly and helpful.

We drove from Dayton to celebrate my birthday. The food did not disappoint. Margarita pizza was authentic. I highly recommend. We sat on the patio. The view was beautiful and enjoyed watching kayaks floating down the river. The bar drinks were excellent. We will return.

This was my first time dining at Rodi in downtown Loveland and I will definitely be back. The best salad was huge and the beets/ goat cheese combo is amazing. I had the artichoke filled ravioli with shrimp. It was different from your normal ravioli and so yummy. My friend’s lasagna was so flavorful- the sauce is so good! My only issue is that it can get pretty loud in the restaurant, but that’s just because it’s a huge room with tall ceilings. The parking is easy too. The chardonnay that I had was excellent. The server that we had was wonderful. We will definitely be back.
